Pretty much all the fox idiots, and the other usual suspects.
Do they believe what they say or is it just theater to them? An actor playing a role and collecting a paycheck?
I know many of the go back years in theseroles, so Im inclined to believe that they believe what they say. But what they say is so patently and obviously false that I sometimes wonder.
With the buffoon at least theres an explanation. Hes a malignant narcissist. But the insider cultists? Are they so deep in that theyve reconciled themselves to the extent that their heads dont explode? Or is it just a long term con with a hefty paycheck?
Then theres George Conway and the gorgon hes married to. Words fail be.

(66,329 posts)I heard a rumor somewhere that Rush Limbaugh originally was a political moderate, but saw the potential for huge amounts of loot in right-wing talk radio. This was back in the eighties.
Now, of course, rumor or not, there's no trace of such an animal. He's a disgusting, heartless, soulless, brainless, ambulatory piece of shit, and utterly beyond redemption; not that I think redemption is possible with these assholes. I heard Lee Atwater's deathbed recantation was likewise nothing more than a rumor.

(14,856 posts)Their customers are the advertisers. Their job is to attract an audience so the advertisers can pitch their crap. The audience is the product, you could say, that the performer produces for his or her customers, the advertisers.
Since their job is to attract an audience for the advertisers, they will say whatever they think is likely to keep the audience tuning in regularly.
Also, many of these performances are scripted and rehearsed, even if they appear to be spontaneous commentary or discussion, or even straight news. Here is a link to an example of the latter, from the night of the 2012 election:
