Trump says he plans to resume travel next week with trip to Arizona

President Trump on Wednesday said he plans to resume traveling next week with a trip to Arizona after spending the past month largely cloistered in the White House due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I think I’m going to Arizona next week, and we look forward to that," he told reporters during a roundtable with business leaders.

"And I'm going to, I hope, Ohio very soon," he continued. "And we’re going to start to move around, and hopefully in the not too distant future we’ll have some massive rallies and people will be sitting next to each other."

"I hope that we’re going to be able to do some good old-fashioned 25,000-person rallies where everyone's going wild because they love our country," he said.

Darwin proposed the idea of evolution through natural selection as the idea that traits were selected for randomly based on small changes that advantaged certain members of a species and allowed them to procreate. Darwin's theory has been used to justify a great number of human activity and behaviors that Darwin himself did not approve of.

https://bigthink.com/words-of-wisdom/charles-darwin-would-be-ashamed-of-social-darwinism

I understand the joke is that "stupid people take themselves out of the gene pool by their stupid choices" and it is ironic and amusing. The problem with this situation is that these idiotic Trump supporters do not exist in a vacuum. They live in society, with us. They go to the grocery store, they work in our offices, they are our auto mechanics, tax preparation people, our dentists, etc... They will crowd together defying health warnings, but then they will go back out into the community and use the bus, and ride elevators, or touch the handrails on the subway or pick up and put back that avocado the you put into your cart.

This is not social darwinism or Darwin's theory at all. This is a possible re activation of a pandemic that is slowly and painfully being contained through great sacrifice and pain by many people.

I don't mean this as a criticism or attack on you in any way. I really enjoy reading your posts. It is just something that I have been thinking on while reading responses that use Darwin Awards or mention Darwin when discussing the dangerous and foolish things that we do that put us into danger, and I just needed to put this out there.

attend Trump's rallies and pass the bug around to each other will also pass it to the non-stupid people who don't attend and burden the health care system. The point was simply that people who do stupid things often do themselves in. I know perfectly well what Darwin really meant.

Totally get the reference to Darwin Award humor as well. I said down thread that if there was some way to isolate Trump supporters then I would applaud the decision to go to rallies and "let life happen".

This shit is just starting to get to me in a way I have been able to fend off before.

He has left cities with bills of 10's of thousands of dollars, stiffing them on electricity costs and security. One more thing for him to welch on is prediction of what would happen.

according to the above link:

"....we’ll have some massive rallies and people will be sitting next to each other."

Grounds for impeachment in my opinion, and that statement alone is enough.

And somewhere, somehow, some Republicans will step forward on that statement..

That statement is so offensive, dangerous, and stupid that it stands by itself as grounds for impeachment &
that statement is proof that Trump wants to endanger lives at his rallies
gatherings.

If that can be proven, then it is all over for Trump..(and I do think that can be proven)...When you think you have seen it all, there is more..

...And Trump has gotten away with a whole lot, but this is too much. Deliberately saying people will sit close to each other during these dangerous times, is way beyond sane.
...........Saying this is the proof most of us need, to impeach again........
.............Trump is insane to say that........and he thinks he can get away with anything he says..

Bring all of those Trump voters into one space and cram them close together. That should reduce your electorate significantly by November.

Idiot.

And close all doors and windows. Let that virus-bloated air waft into every magat's nose. Make sure you bloviate for at least 2 hours bashing Hillary. That will stir up the virus-comtaminated air even more. Encourage chants like lock her up to get those vocal cords pushing infections onto 100% of your loyal sheep.

He is such a completely selfish asshole. He's going to start having rallies again to stroke his fragile ego and people are going to get sick and spread the virus to the rest of us.

I don't really care if people who go to Trump rallies get sick and suffer consequences for their stupid choices, but viruses do not discriminate and those stupid asses will end up in the grocery store next to you and I, and threaten our health.

I find myself unable to even describe the feelings I have about this careless and dangerous idiot leading his stupid followers, and the rest of the country, off a cliff.

If there was a bubble that could be placed around them, I would say, "DEFINITELY, GO FOR IT. GOOD LUCK" but the problem is that I have cousins and other relatives who support him and while I have not seen them in months, if the country is basically forced back into "normalcy", there will be interactions with family and friends and office mates, etc... who support Trump or who have family that will go to these rallies and as you said, care providers who will inevitably have to treat them when they get sick. We will all suffer.

Trump To Hold Rallies Soon With No Social Distancing

https://www.politicususa.com/2020/04/29/trump-to-hold-rallies-soon-with-no-social-distancing.html

Trump said that he plans to resume holding political rallies soon, and he will not be enforcing social distancing rules for his events.

Trump said, “I think I’m going to Arizona next week, and we look forward to that, and I’m going to, I hope to Ohio very soon, and we’re going to start to move around and hopefully in the not too distant future we’ll have some massive rallies, and people will be sitting next to each other I can’t imagine a rally where you would have every fourth seat full, every six seats are empty for everyone. That wouldn’t look too good.”

Video of Trump:
..........................

The decision on rallies isn’t up to Donald Trump. It will be up to governors of the states, who will be setting the rules on large public gatherings. There are red states like West Virginia, Alabama, Idaho, and Florida that would not mind Trump spreading the coronavirus in their state.

Health experts have warned that mass public gatherings will be one of the last things to come back online, but Trump wants his rallies, and he is willing to endanger public health to boost his self-esteem.

Barring some miracle, it seems like a sure bet that some of those graduates will die of COVID-19 contracted because they appeared as ordered by Trump.

On edit: I'm going to say that Trump gets a sick satisfaction to see that he can order West Pointers to pointlessly risk their lives and they will do it.
