It isn’t all or nothing. Just because Reade’s story is suspect doesn’t mean we don’t support women. We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

One part that stood out to me was how Biden's past behavior of "uncomfortable touching" did not line up with Reade's recent accusations:

►Lack of other sexual assault allegations. Last year, several women claimed that Biden made them uncomfortable with things like a shoulder touch or a hug. (I wrote a column critical of one such allegation by Lucy Flores.) The Times and Post found no allegation of sexual assault against Biden except Reade's.

It is possible that in his 77 years, Biden committed one sexual assault and it was against Reade. But in my experience, men who commit a sexual assault are accused more than once ... like Donald Trump, who has had more than a dozen allegations of sexual assault leveled against him and who was recorded bragging about grabbing women’s genitalia.

Like this web archive link of Reade's gushing infatuation with Putin. (barf warning - prepare yourself before going to the link)

I had heard of this before but MY GOD this is pathetic.

And yeah, I've read the article and think it's exactly what the author claims they hoped it wouldn't be -- "a guidebook to dismantling legitimate allegations of sexual assault."

and it appears there is a whole lot information available to at least influence one's thinking, not much of it supports Reade's allegations, however. Biden will be on Morning Joe tomorrow to discuss it. We'll see what he has to say.

is that it makes it harder for the people with legitimate claims to get those resolved.

Most prosecutors are skeptical of sexual assault claims in general. They want a slam-dunk, which most sexual assault cases are not, in their rubric.

where did you pull that ridiculous opinion from?

Done a poll have you?

I've prosecuted sexual assault cases, and I can count on one hand the ones I straight up thought they were lying.

The rest I either thought they were clearly telling the truth (whether I could prove it was another matter) or at the very least I thought they genuinely believed they were assaulted.
