16. The girl in the Obama mask had trouble with her shoes.

One of them fell off and she was having a lot of trouble doing the choreography correctly. I'm sure it was either her mother or someone from the dance studio telling her to take off the other shoe. That's when she kicks the other one off.

I wonder if she forgot her shoes and had to wear someone else's that didn't fit.

Someone tweeted in the comments that she'd seen it performed at a dance competition and complained. Like "Dance Moms."

Had never heard of lyric dance before, a freakish mix of acrobatics and a kitchen sink of dance forms. I'm willing to bet that a lot of the dance numbers are really tacky -- same sort of thing as beauty pageants or cheerleading. All about winning competitions. I don't know how this sort of thing can be valuable for any kids who want a career in dance because they're not getting a proper foundation in dance technique. But if they enjoy performing at least they get a lot of opportunities to do so.

These poor kids were probably pushed out onto a small space to perform without any rehearsal, no feeling of what the floor's like or the spacing. And the Obama mask kid's shoes didn't fit and that threw her off. And those stupid masks. No wonder it looks hideous!
