Having to argue with Christian Trump humpers is tiring

I received a message from acTrump humper. It was a meme from the Christian satire site Babylon Bee. It said how can scientists predict the weather 100 years from now, since they have been wrong one billion percent the last two months? I responded by asking him to google “Red Dawn emails”. SMH.
Another Christian Trump humper told me the Coronavirus is a hoax, and the sicknesses are from 5G towers, or something like that. I was too stunned to answer. Is this The Twilight Zone?

5. You can't argue...

You can't argue with a confirmation bias of that nature. Often, arguing with them can have a contrary effect in that they will evoked emotions that distort what you say to inflame their biases and then dig their heels in deeper. I think, being vocal and outright like that actually reinforces their views as well. If they had nobody to argue with, the might think about other things.

They are good at arguing for foolish, unsubstantiated beliefs. If they are going to put all that effort into, mostly, pushing means that "sound right" to them, then they win, in that sense, due to so much practice with it.

I avoid that like the plague, but I also have a sense of compassion and try to understand them rather than let my bias turn into the same kind of ridicule they utilize and that is because I think that distinguishes my view from theirs. I don't need them to be wrong in order to make my point or have a more informed view about things.

There is a lot of background and psychology that underscores that kind of thinking and world view. It is a filter and that's why I used the term, confirmation bias. It does not just apply to Fundamentalists, Right-Wingers and Trump followers. I see generic conspiracy theory buffs who live in a very paranoid world where everything is a devious plot, (some things are, but there is usually evidence) rather than allowing for natural occurrences.

There is something to learn about the mind in this and how a person's perspective can color their world to various degrees, especially when they combine prejudice, belief and reaction emotions that stimulate the limbic brain and overrides logic, reason, etc.

The microwave oven frequencies are closer to WiFi than UHF TV frequencies, however there is a reason why main TV (and radio) transmitters will go to reduced power or off air entirely when transmitter mast antenna work is being done. The engineers don't want to be fried with 1000 kW of power. It's all about the power, not the frequency.

12. I had a very close friend with a undergrad in physics from Cornell..

A J.D. from the University of Denver and a master's in biology from FSU. She believes CD19 is a hoax and so was Sandy Hook, Columbine, and loads of other atrocities. It's all "black ops" according to her. I quit talking to her a couple of years ago but still keep in touch with her sister who keeps me posted, although the sister has had to distance herself, as well. It's mental illness and she refuses to seek help. It breaks my heart and I miss my "old friend" so much, but I'm afraid she's gone forever. She began listening to Alex Jones years ago and went off the deep end. She is so brilliant, such a waste.
