There is something weird going on with my bank account

I get SSI. 783.00 I spent most of the month not spending as my money does not go far and I hang on to every cent.

I had been checking my balance pretty much everyday on my phone and today I have 4 bux in there.
The bank claims there was a deposit of 1,059 bux in there and there was a withdrawal of 1,016. This is the account summary at the top of my statement.

But the transaction log of every transaction says nothing about the 1,016 withdrawal.

So wtf.

What happened to my money
I thought it would be 1,200.

This is fucking weird.

Anyone out there have shenanigans like this with thier account and wtf do I do about it?

I so hate republicans and the 1% pigs.

hijack your COVID payment. So, if you had any outstanding debts, particularly one that added up to $1,016, then the bank had the 'right' to take that money and give it to the creditor instead of you.

At least that's my understanding.

Might be a really good idea to call your bank.

5. It's not 'any outstanding debts' ... lets not freak our friend out here unnecessarily ...

This would require a legal, court-ordered lien or similar garnishment.

It's unlikely someone would have one of those against them and have no idea about it.

I didn't even contact them/ignored them for many years. During which I was making pretty good money. Depositing it in my bank account at a major bank. Every year I filed my taxes, they just kept my tax return money against the debt.

They didn't garnish my bank account even WITH a court-ordered lien. Nor did they garnish my pay check. I'm talking I didn't square it all away for 8 years after the lien was granted, 11 years after the actual tax year. And I literally did nothing to explain myself/talk to them. Blew off everything they ever sent.

So, in my experience, the government doesn't garnish bank accounts all willy-nilly, w/o you knowing about it. Presumably Panther would have mentioned that as a possibility.

Some of it has been freed up to you to use if you need it while it processes, the rest will become available at some time in near future/tomorrow.

It may just look odd because of the processing stage it's in.

I've had that happen before, they hold a portion of it and release some. But it clearly says its a hold. Not a withdrawal. Maybe other banks do it differently?

I cannot wait until the whole idea behind republicanism is seen as toxic inhumane bullshit it is and all republicans that remain get deported to gitmo and die I'm pretty frustrated by this bullshit.
I haven't a clue what's going on.

If you are disabled the republicans screw you every chance they can

Or maybe the republicans and all thier supporters believers and enablers could be dragged off thier islands and gated communities by an angry mob and get all thier heads put on pikes.

They deserve to be dispised ,forced to be broke on the street ,spat upon and hated all the days of thier stupid lives and all that wealth they stole clawed back and used to build a better world without them or thier fucked up ideas..

12. If banks in the USA are anything like banks here, they are not to be trusted, especially with money

Here, they kill you with fees for everything. Once the local bank here tried to hit me with a $210 fee for a wire to Düsseldorf, which is ten miles down the road. Oops, there must have been some mistake, we'll refund it. Of course, it was only a mistake because I saw it and yelled at them for it. Deposit a check from the States? Look for a fat €100 fee taken out. Monthly charges? About €80 a month if you have a dollar account and a euro account, and don't overdraw. Otherwise they charge you interest the mafia would be embarrassed to charge. And don't leave too much on your account. For larger amounts, some banks here now give you NEGATIVE interest. No joke. Leave your life savings of, to pick a figure out of the air, €100,000 in there for a year, and you will have €99,000 at the end of the year.

The only thing you can do (besides leaving your life savings in cash stuffed into a mattress) is call them on every irregularity, and bug them until someone at the bank flags your account with some kind of "leave this one alone" note.

By the way, notaries in Germany are as bad or worse. Licensed bandits. When my grandfather died, his modest apartment in Manhattan, which he had bought in the 1950s, was worth a lot when it was sold. My share was something like $25,000 minus whatever inheritance taxes had to be paid. I had to get my signature notarized for the payment to go through, and I was in Germany at the time. So I went to a notary to get my signature notarized. In the USA, that will cost you about $2. In Germany, the first thing I was asked was how much is the inheritance for? I said what does that matter? I only need my signature notarized. Guess what? In Germany, to get a signature notarized by a notary, they get to charge you a percentage of the amount of the inheritance! They wanted to charge me more than the cost of a flight back to the USA for what would be a $2 procedure back home. I told them they were insane and that I would fly home first. They relented, since I was an ignorant foreigner, and as an "exception" said they would do it for about €50, which was still outrageous, but I couldn't fly to Washington and back for that, so I paid up. Imagine if I had inherited a house!! "I need my signature notarized because my parents left me this house." "No problem, mein Herr, that will be $4000, please."
