another day when areas around the country play with fire and start to open shit up.
another day when assholes protest - bring guns - generally carrying on their ignorant cult behavior.
another day when some of the predictions for fatalities are already gone (http://www.healthdata.org/covid/updates) - a low end estimate from yesterday for the first wave was 59K - we are already at nearly 64K).

(25,111 posts)we won't know the outcome for approx. two weeks. If death tolls remain at 2,000 per day that is approx. 28,000, it will be over 90,000 . .

(11,085 posts)The number of cases used to double every 3 days. Then the governors stepped in and told people to stay home. That slowed the doubling time. With premature re-opening of some states, it may double faster.
We often get tens of millions of cases of the seasonal flu, despite having vaccines. We could easily see tens of millions of cases of Covid. the flu causes tens of thousands of deaths every year. Covid could cause millions of deaths, just in the US.

(11,885 posts)Prematurely without the adequate testing and system set up to track and trace is another recipe for disaster from trump. No matter how much he tries to hide what will happen from them trying to do this. Trump is causing more American deaths for his personal political gains. Trump is openly telling people their life doesn't matter, only what helps himself matters by doing this now.
