His favorability has dropped 11 points among white evangelicals, from 77% in March to 66% now.
It's dropped 12 points among noncollege whites, from 66% to 54% now.

(10,123 posts)because there will be a lot of unreported deaths and many more unnecessary deaths to come. Americans can look the other way on a lot of stuff but historically, not dead Americans.
Trump will lie again to blame it on China or Obama or whoever. And Trump will come up with a snake oil salesman pitch that he's developing a vaccine that will be ready shortly after the election but will be delayed if Trump has to run the transition from a country that doesn't have extradition with the US.

(2,356 posts)But what's with Democratic states in that second chart inching UP ????
OAITW r.2.0
(24,455 posts)There may be some statistical noise distorting these results. I suspect that continued polling on these states will show more erosion (or correction) than the other groups.

(6,911 posts)Blue States and Red States is not a reliable group to compare. Is Louisiana, with a history of Democratic voting and a Democratic Governor red or blue? Republicans all say its red but Democrats say its blue.

(24,455 posts)The great political divide in this country appears to be "rural" vs. "urban" in every state. Rural areas tend to be self-isolating and insulated from outside influence. Urban areas have a lot more diversity of thought that impacts their world-view of these areas.
I'd love to see demographic data on Fox News viewers. I'll bet their biggest markets are located in primarily rural areas.

(13,574 posts)If it had happened a couple years back right as I was having some medical problems, the loss of income, insurance and the medical bills would have buried me.
That's why they are so desperate to blame democrats. It can't be Trumps slow response, it has to be that most of their problems were forced on them by democrats because of the lockdowns. Even if the manage that and it momentarily looks good for the republicans, they still aren't going to just take it. No freakin' way most of those people hospitalized can afford to pay what most of them racked up in bills.
If people that have lost it all realize the wealthy came away even farther ahead, the shit is going to hit the fan and stay hit!
That situation with the meat packing plants is going to kill Trump. His order to stay open won't work. At best they can be running at diminished capacity soon if we're lucky. We will be seeing meat shortages at best, possibly produce as well, maybe overall food shortages, and maybe even food rationing before it's all over if it stays bad enough long enough.
Trump's thinking, this can't happen, it will ruin him, it's not fair. He thinks he can just order it to stop when the only thing he could have done was prevent it by earlier and aggressive action.

(5,754 posts)Will they continue to buy pork from meat processing plants with a history of coronavirus infection?
gab13by13
(21,304 posts)Trump forced meat packaging plants to remain open because not doing so would destroy the supply chain. Since farmers send a lot of pork to China, was Trump talking about our supply chain or China's?

(13,574 posts)snapping your finger to make it so isn't that easy. Everything that was in the pipeline to them can't that easily be rerouted to our stores and food banks. Even that takes some serious planning and expertise that Trump has made sure he doesn't have. That has to happen though. As usual Trump will make sure it's a bigger problem than it needed to be.

(45,427 posts)but it's slightly harder to blame Dems for GOP controlled states closing down plants due to workers getting sick and dying.

(2,412 posts)Most of these folks worked hard and long hours. Keeping workers busy and stressed left little time for reflection. FOX news and stickin it to the Libs was the evenings entertainment. Now they are unemployed, without health care and with plenty of time to THINK. They are looking around at their kids and THINKING how this economy will hurt them.
They are not stupid. They will figure it out here pretty darn quick.

(12,531 posts)NO Hillary voter is going to vote for trump this time. MANY Trump voters either will vote against him or wont vote at all.
One friend told me he had no plans to vote for trump but likely wouldnt vote Biden either. Fine. One LESS Trump vote.
But he also said "I Wish Biden would pick a VP that would make me vote for him". But then he also couldnt tell me who that would be
lagomorph777
(30,613 posts)I'm guessing any VP pick that would bring in Trumpers would turn off sane voters. I'm happy enough if the Trumpers just stay home.

(50,888 posts)Who is picked as VP is not as important as the Cabinet positions that will be filled and the many other positions such as the NLRB and other labor related agencies. Normally I would not be as concerned about the Defense Dept or Homeland Security but Trump has weakened them and put this country at risk.
One of the tasks that Biden could assign his VP is to weed out people Trump planted in the depts and agencies. And then he will need someone to help him fill vacancies in the lower courts and the Supreme Court when they open.
Sure who is the VP is important but not in the way most think.
Just as Biden was a good VP. It was because Obama was in charge.

He's lost it for sure. I cannot for the life of me ever remember a politico, let alone a president (small p, like his p) who indicted his campaign manager before the election. Only Trumplestilkins would do this. Btw, this Brad fellow is pretty good at what he does so I do hope he quits or gets fired....and soon.
