[Update: I wrote this before I knew that Biden was going to appear on Morning Joe this morning to discuss the accusations. Both his written statement and his appearance again reinforce my personal impressions about this story. He refused to insult or demean Reade, refused to be goaded by Mika into accepting the false choice here between the principle of believing women and stating his own innocence–and most importantly, he not only didn’t oppose investigation, but encouraged it, asking the Secretary of the Senate to ask the National Archives to release any records from the Office of Fair Employment Practices, where any complaint Reade filed would be archived. He’s said nothing that would cast doubt on him.]

about releasing his papers with the University of Delaware in her best "I am Woman - Hear me roar". Her tone was unceasingly hostile and accusatory, very unlike the countless hours she and Numbnuts Joe spent fellating Dumpy when he was campaigning. I don't remember Mika questioning Trump about any of the myriad serious allegations of sexual assault on record. I guess it's only in play for Democrats.

10. About time this discussion happens -needs to be some clear consensus about how we

process this sort of thing.

I like to think that nowadays, the message has finally gotten through that NO means NO, and that possible sexual partners need to clearly ask for consent But the fact remains that ANYONE whose grown up in the last ten thousand years knows that such situations used to be very ambiguous and intentions not often clearly stated, and signals easily got crossed.

So then what.... what if we had two candidate ea with sexual misconduct or assault allegations? Couldnt there be a qualitative difference in the two based on current behavior. and ethical stance

My loathing of the current prez solidified back when the grabbing p***y tapes surfaced. He could have easily said "I was playing a playboy role for entertainment, it doesnt represent what I believe or how I behave now." His not saying that spoke volumes, and IMHO was far more egregious than the original act.
