2. Guess meatpackers don't get hero status

All sorts of jobs are being labeled heroic nowadays but usually it’s medical and other types of care. We should remember the grocery store workers, Delivery chain workers, etc that keep things going. Maybe not heroic but it’s good they are there, and some of the lowest paid.

3. Well, it's shockingly crass and heartless.

The persons depicted are obvious immediate family. They are stating a trump followers silver lining.

4. That was mostly my wife's reaction, also.

So long as they had bacon.

5. 80% of the meat processing workforce is comprised of undocumented workers or refugees.*

This couple doesn't look very hispanic to me.

*The League of United Latin American Citizens, LULAC, (the largest and oldest Hispanic Organization in the United States, established on February 17, 1929, in Corpus Christi, Texas, largely by Hispanic veterans of World War I who sought to end ethnic discrimination against Latinos in the United States.)

6. I noticed Safeway was selling their "Smithfield" brand bacon for like half-price?

Nobody seemed to be buying it?

7. I view it as using irony to drive a point home.

IMO It is showing how ridiculous the decision to keep infected plants open while people are dying, all for “bacon”.

10. The artist may have missed the point on a couple of levels

But, who am I to judge.

In my opinion, it is not about the bacon, but the money the bacon makes. He may have also drawn the mourners as minorities. If it was yellow haired women and men in business suits, they would not be mourning. The grave may have been drawn as a potter's field.

The meat packers are sacrificing their minority workers because they are unwilling to slow down the production process. It is all about profits. It is not real people being sacrificed to save our bacon the are people of color...

11. I want to hurt both of those asses is my gut reaction.

I hope the meat packers just don't show up, but damn, how hard that is for them. I hate, hate, hate the fucking assmouth that stole the WH and is killing us on purpose for his own profit and political gain.

13. I disagree with the word "always"

It should read “we got to have bacon for a few more weeks”

I’m sure these meatpacking places are going to be overrun with COVID-19 in a very short period of time.
