The action of a number of state "lawmakers" proves that we are endangered by a small minority

If recent polls are to be believed, the overwhelming majority of Americans accept the restrictions on our activities as being necessary to protect us all from the spread of the virus. Yet some legislators in a number of states, typically Republicans, are introducing bills to limit such protections. Is our country now under the control of politicians who are trying to appease an assortment of gun-toting thugs (Trump calls them very good people), religious fanatics, racists, and greedy corporate interests? Will the majority(I hope) of right minded, true patriotic Americans stand up to this dangerous minority and their Republican handlers?
