It is too much of a sacrifice to do this while being ordered to stay home.

Watch movies, have a drink anytime you want, Barbecue a steak, go for a nice long walk, drive to the grocery store to pick up a few items. I can't take too much more of this.

Today I am being forced to watch and bet the Arkansas Derby, THE HORROR!

We have only been asked to stay home for a short period of time, so far. All these people complaining about being forced to stay home are weaklings. All of us want to get back to work, all of us want to be able to do what we normally do. But staying home is not a great sacrifice.

All these assholes protesting to open things back up are simple minded weaklings who do not know what the word sacrifice means.

I will admit, staying at home when the weather is horrible day after day is very depressing. The month of April here in upstate New York was flat at cruel weather wise.

Today the weather is beautiful, staying at home is not a great sacrifice. It is the right thing to do.

They should be glad if they have a home and food and the rest right now. Some of us are living outside, have less access to indoor facilities, are struggling to eat enough as food prices rise and SNAP does not correspond with it.

Imagine living in a tent and being outside all day. When its cold out, its very cold. When it gets hot and humid, you just sweat and feel weak and confused. Imagine a hot shower and doing laundry to be a luxury; an if or when you can get it. Sometimes you can go without both for a couple of weeks or more. Imagine eating only one meal a day and fasting often, no eating out at all. No running water, no electricity, no kitchen to prepare food, etc. Using the bathroom can mean a long walk to a store.

However, the value of appreciation does not fit for people who are labeled by their culture as "consumers". They exist to consume, (and that includes entertainments, sports, restaurants, etc.) and support the economy as if it were a god, (well, there is a old name for that god, Mammon).

If there was a cultivation of appreciation, one would want what one has and not want what one doesn't have or need. You don't know how good the things you have are and take them for granted rather than enjoying their presence. We have some people who appear to not think for themselves and even behave as if they are in some sort of protracted adolescence; reckless, impulsive teenagers. I don't care what their chronological age is, because they are not acting it.

You can never, ever get enough of what you don't really need to be happy.

spoiled and selfish.

If testing and contact tracing becomes more prevalent I wonder if these gun-toting protesters will quarantine for 14 days if they find out that they have Covid-19? Will they cooperate with the contact tracers and let them know who they came in contact with? I wonder if they will even submit themselves to the testing?

work from home and still have an income and are STILL whining, well they just need to suck it up! This is not that bad.

Do I get a little bored sometimes? Sure, but that is no sacrifice if it will stop the spread of this deadly pandemic. This is not that hard. I have food, books, movies, internet, indoor plumbing, electricity and everthing else I need to stay comfortable.

To see people out there whining because they can't get a hair cut or go to a bar is just too much to take. These snowflakes need to get their priorities straight.

I'm comfortable at home, have fewer needs (clothing, etc.) than those who have to commute to a job, and Social Security provides a small guaranteed income that I supplement.

Honestly, my life hasn't been negatively impacted very much. I do go out less (once every two weeks, or so), and could use a "fill and a mani" on my nails, but that's the worst of it.

The positives include living in yoga pants, saving on gas and impulse purchases, and not having to think up excuses for not going where I don't really want to go, since we can't "go" anyway. No one is knocking on my door trying to sell me something.

I have four grandkids. Two are local and two in SC (and moving to Sweden in June). The two locals are new drivers and were rarely home anyway; now that they're confined, we facetime and I actually "see" them more. I've had to forego a last trip to SC to see the youngers before they move, and renew my expiring passport instead for whenever international travel opens up.

I DO understand and am sympathetic to those who are not faring well. I make sure to tip generously and donate often. I'm watchful for those less fortunate, and offer aid as appropriate. Times like this hit the poorest the most.

"Suck it up" is key. As long as I'm on the right side of a ventilator, there's no excuse to whine.

I would love to go for a walk, but it's too hot.

The gyms are closed etc. (Wouldn't go if they were open anyway)
A few malls opened, but they look too crowded for mall walking, so I'm staying at home.

My yard is full of mosquitoes. My back hurts..yuck..I'm trying to rid of leaves under my deck, but it is hot and backbreaking. Early this morning, I killed some weeds before it got too hot.

Too hot to clean the garage. I guess I should do laundry.

I think I'm getting cabin fever and I'm doing a whole lot of nothing....And I'm actually overwhelmed by all the stuff I have to do at home.

I think cabin fever and lack of exercise is getting to me...grhhh

I used to have a cheap Intex pool with a pump to help with the heat. (Got rid of it due to trees and perpetual algae) Yesterday my daughter said, "Mom, I used to make fun of that kiddie pool you had. Now I want one.." It made my day.

which is why I don't plan to ever return to south Texas. It's been in the high 40s in the early morning, warming up to about 80 by 3pm. Beautiful skies. Everything is green and blooming.
You have my sympathies, having to live there.

She was completely incapable of entertaining herself, and she was only really happy when among a large crowd of people.

She was a beautician, so she’s probably not working now either.

Complete opposite of me, and it’s now amazing to me that we ever got married. I was “thinking” with something other than my brain, I guess.
