And I don't think Gore did such a lousy job. But his dimwitted opponent was just pulling stuff out of his rear end and passing it off as fact. It was like a collegiate debater trying to argue with an elementary schooler, but the elementary schooler was always insisting he was right. It is really hard to have a debate when one opponent is so astoundingly ill-informed.

audience. Bush consistently addressed the questions that were asked. Gore, on the other hand, mostly ignored the questions and restated over and over his position on Social Security.
It was as though he hadn't heard their question.

Bush is certainly no intellectual. However, he has a considerable talent for saying a lot of cute, country witticisms that the right wingers just love. The debates were not real debates. They were contests to show who was the more entertaining. Gore wasn't good at that.

But, Gore won the election, only to have it taken away by the crooks, especially the SC.

actually Bush did lose..119,000 missing votes =Diebold and Sec of State Blackwell
Kerry won and in time research will show Kerry won..
If the truth was know Bush never won an election in his life.
Even the governorship of Texas win =Karl Rove...
Back to 2012 we cant get over confident and think we have it in the bag because of the same reasons as 2004..electronic voting and this year voter ID scheme.

this close to the debate they set the parameters, they set the floor, the status quo.

The debates then either change that status quo or reinforce it. So, going into the debates Obama is clearly ahead and in a stronger position and Romney is going to have to improvise and take more chances and we all know that isn't something he does well at.

All you have to do is read the jaw-dropping alternate reality of Jennifer Rubin at The Washington Post to know he's losing. That and listen to the screams against the "mainstream media." It's not over yet, but this country is not liking the Mittster.

Serious women in the GOP are pissed off with their party and trying to find a way to remedy it. I've become involved in a bi-partisan fight in Orange County and have allied myself with Republicans to stop a power grab to get no bid contracts and reject a charter that would give our city council unprecedented power.

Bi-partisanship is possible. It's happening here. And from what I've been told, Arizona's radicals are made up of former residents of Orange County, CA.

what I noticed was a very significant number of sampling(1000-1300) and a lower margin of error.
And most voters in this survey had made their choice, and were not likely to change their mind....very few undecided..

I hate to rain on the parade, but the polls don't win an election, It's WHO COUNTS the votes. I do not underestimate the Rove, Koch state officials from Florida, Pennsylvania, & Florida etc and the unverifiable software in voting machines. They can still steal the election and give it Romney. To me, Romney seems smug - likes its in the bag...no worries.

Fri Sep 14, 2012, 04:21 AM

Rove and the Bush's need Romney to lose in 2012 so Jeb can attempt to win the general of 2016.With the recent repub primary changes all favoring Jeb more than any other new candidate, if anything is fixed its that Rove is not on Romney's side. And the benefactor of the 2000 shenanigans was Bush and only Bush.

Herr Mittens is always smug, he was botoxed with that smug look on his face, after all, what does he care, day after election he is still a billionaire and they say he was offered a job that pays 300million after 2008, sure that job still awaits him.

Remember something else President Obama is not some naive hick, he knows the tricks and the people behind him know.
Bob Shrum and the others that worked for Kerry and Gore do not work for Obama(for good reason).

And remember too, the few percent that may be offset will themselves be offset by ultra conservative libertarian Gary Johnson being on the ballot in 47 states, and Virginia having Goode on the ballot.
What Ralph Nader did in 2000 to the Dems (cause directly the Gore lose), Johnson can do this time to Mittens.

Nader made it close enough to doubt. I 100% blame Nader more than anything else, because Gore would have won NH and those 4 votes would have done it without Florida.

BTW, Obama doesn't even need to win Florida or Ohio but Romney needs both and still comes up way short.

And Obama is not Jimmy Carter either. And had Al Gore used Bill Clinton, hemight have won Arkansas and the very conservative turned Tennessee.
