(17,865 posts)commented on Christine O'Donnell's niece's breasts when she was 14 year old. Now since he wasn't there, the story shifts back a year earlier. Still Biden can't be placed there since he was in Iowa.
It is just another hit job.

(10,667 posts)Seriously, though, for an OP, more background would be helpful.
an accusation was made that Biden made comments about Christine O'Donnell's 14 year old (at the time) nieces breasts at a political dinner in Delaware in 2008. Several journalists started running with the story including the usual suspects like Katie Halper, Ryan Grim, and Nathan Robinson. Also ABC's Sasha Pezenik's tweeted it out.
It took about an hour for actual journalists to find out from multiple sources and documentation that Biden wasn't even at the dinner but instead was instead at home recovering from sinus surgery at the time. So, today they said it was actually the 2007 dinner, but again we have proof that Biden was campaigning in Iowa on the day for that event in 2007.
So, this accusation is now a completely debunked smear elevated by irresponsible journalists from the far left.

(53,342 posts)It does seem like Halper, Grim, and especially Robinson have been not only reporting on this story but actively working to create it.
Robinson even made a set of now deleted tweets where he admitted that he was telling the brother what to say to the Washington Post, which caused the brother to change the original story he told them about only having heard about Biden touching TRs shoulder.
After TR changed her story yesterday Grim and Halper were quick to try to claim that what she was saying was the same as they had always said. Nevermind that there are tweets from TR directly saying he has made a written complaint about "Harassment and more." Pretty clear that this "complaint" either never existed or was completely different from anything she was claiming and they were just using the excuse of looking for it to try to search through all of Bidens records to find things he has written or said that they can use against him. The second they find something where he is talking to a bank executive or somebody from Wall Street they are going to blow that up to show the "progressives' why he's a horrible person they should never support.
Their goal isn't to beat Trump, it's to ensure that he wins because they think it's the fastest way to bring on their "revolution."
They remind me of the socialists in Germany that joined the Nazis because they through that after Hitler took down the establishment they could take control from him and install a socialist state. Want to guess how that worked out?

(95,249 posts)In Weimar Germany, the moderate center left was the Social Democratic Party, who were a body of similar character to the Labour Party in England, and considered 'the socialists' by all and sundry. It was the Communist Party which assailed this from the left, in terms which would need much explanation to make sense of today, with the aim of discrediting the Social Democrats as a leftist body, so they could succeed to leadership of the working class entire. Communist thugs did indeed join Nazi thugs in attacks on Social Democrat rallies and election activities. It became Communist policy to see Hitler's rise as a 'two birds with one stone' sort of thing. The Nazis would destroy the Social Democrats; under Communist leadership the workers would rally to revolution at the first taste of Nazi rule; Germany would become Red Germany under Communist rule. It is a strategy only a trained ideologue could be fool enough to propose, let alone believe in. Things did not, as you suggest, work out so well, and certainly not for those active as Communists, who at the first taste of Nazi rule found themselves not at the head of a horde of revolutionary workers, but hunted, beaten, disposed of impromptu by ingenious murder squads, or tormented in concentration camps.
If one seeks to transpose this to modern idiom, one or two adjustments must be noted. Politics in Weimar were violent and armed. The Social Democrats had an 'armed wing' for protection and defense, just as did other parties. The street brawl was a routine part of politics. The strategy of destroying the center takes on a different tone when actual armed violence is out of the question, at least on the left. If anything, that strategy becomes more dreamlike, more clearly a fantasy indulged in without the slightest expectation of actually acceding to authority and responsibility. That the Communists were a disciplined and armed party will be urged against the identification being made between the 'lefter than thou' of our day and the Communists of Weimar, on ground of their sharing a similar aim --- wrecking a center left party and taking it over as a revolutionary force, albeit in our day a revolution expected to involve no violence, as is the present style. It is true enough these 'red rose' sort of people are no organized body, and that each one considers himself or herself a fiercely independent thinker who takes orders from no one. It is also true they have forsworn violence, and would not engage in it themselves.

(3,282 posts)I'm not really trying to make a direct comparison, just an analogy. Trump is clearly the threat here and is antithetical to everything the socialists say they are for, but that isn't stopping them from attacking the only person in the world who is a threat to remove him from power at this point.
And while Trump probably isn't going to have them murdered in the night, he is going to spend the next 4 years doing everything possible to make sure their agenda is never able to be enacted unless Joe Biden wins.

(95,249 posts)It strikes me as quite sound, when due allowance is made for altered circumstances, and things are given their right names. People who constitute a sort of 'libertarian left' (though among them are certainly believers in the prophecies of Marx) will bristle at being likened to Communists, and claims of 'McCarthy-ism' and 'Red-baiting' may be expected, so its best to have all the ducks in proper array.
