MSNBC reporter interrupted by protester in California: 'Take off your damn mask, man!'

MSNBC's Steve Patterson was interrupted during a live report, with a protester in California telling the reporter to "take off your damn mask, man!"

The interruption came on Saturday afternoon as Patterson was reporting on a protest in Laguna Beach over Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D-Calif.) social distancing orders — including the closure of beaches in the Golden State — amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"The beach is to my right. You can see some of this orange fencing. That's kept a lot of people away, at least from main beach. Haven't seen anybody there," Patterson reported while wearing a mask outdoors near the beach.

"Take off your damn mask, man! You don't need it," an unidentified man yelled while walking by Patterson.

Patterson continued without acknowledging the advice while showing signs from protesters that included "When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty."

these people have all been duped into thinking that spreading a virus that will kill old people, diabetics, people with heart conditions, and random other people is somehow some kind of great patriotic act against tyranny of a government that's asking them to wear safety equipment.

They are getting rather aggressive about this from what I have been reading lately.

We have more vectors walking around now than when this initially started. There is a percentage of asymptomatic people and super spreaders, (think, Typhoid Mary) in the general population. Perhaps that's just too difficult for some of them to grasp?

It is quite possible that, after the cases spike among the protester types, they will disappear or quite down to some degree. Word gets around.

Talk about Darwin. It is very strange to see people self-selecting for their own personal extinction and that of their families. That really bypasses the impact the survival instinct should take care of.

We will see. The protests are recent. I give them the usual, two to four weeks.

Do they also rail at mandatory wearing of seat belts? Do they take off their shoes to board a plane? Maybe they think driving without a license is an expression of freedom.

insists that it's okay for them to go to the beach and surf because they think it's okay.

And I know another who believes a lot of the ct stuff out there, they think the virus is a hoax, though they aren't trumpites, they are pissed that they aren't able to work because what they get on UI benefits plus the $600 just isn't enough.
