complaint that he is treated worse than Lincoln was suggests that he isn't even aware that Lincoln was assassinated?I

He is utterly incapable of empathy or really even the thought that other people's lives matter at all against his momentary happiness.
He is a total piece of pathetic orange shit.

(52,196 posts)this wasn't ignorance of history, just something staggeringly stupid to say on many levels.
he was saying talking about how "hostile" the press was to him, a favorite trope of his, and as he was standing in lincoln's shadow, he decided it would be cool to whine about how the press is treating him even worse than it treated lincoln.
which isn't remotely true, of course, but more to the point, he said it in a way that let people think the statement was meant more generally than just a whine about his press treatment.
more political incompetence combined with immature press relations rather than historical stupidity. this time, anyway.
