The anniversary of her passing was earlier this week and Mom had a rough day. We miss her and Grandpa, a lot. I am in the middle of moving so today we have been going through the furniture and rugs and tons of other stuff that has been packed away in storage since she passed (which made it even more jarring to see that check in the estate mailbox today). It’s been bittersweet to remember where she had this end table or that vase in her house.
We have a lot of good memories.

With all the millions of mailings going out, there are bound to be mistakes. Mark the check VOID, keep copies of the check and your letter showing that you sent it back on such-and-such a date. That way, in a year or two, when the government comes looking for checks that shouldn't have been issued, you will have something to show them that the check wasn't or shouldn't have been cashed, and that if it was, it wasn't by you.

We haven’t been able to find clear instructions on how to return it. We are definitely not cashing it, but figured we’d hold on to it until the craziness slows down. I imagine the irs is totally swamped right now.

They eat up stuff like this, and it's just more anti trump grist for the mill.

Same thing:
Mother’s name, deceased

Signed by President Donald Trump!

I don’t trust them enough to just send it back. They’ll lose it and keep coming back looking for it ‘til the day I die. Maybe I’ll just hold onto it till they come looking for it.

Lots of people need that money now (or needed it weeks ago) and still haven’t gotten their check.
I hope you are found eligible and get the payment soon.

The part at the bottom that has President Orange Anus printed on it.
Can I write below it's name, 'Der Hair Fuhrer' without violating any rule that would make the bank not cash it?

My sense is that they are shot gunning the hell out of this and have no clue about where a lot of the money is going.
