One can only get so far on bullshit...Sooner or later, one has to face reality.

This is the box that Donald Trump finds himself in.

For his entire life, he has thrived on bullshit. In a way, he created his own reality, his own world.

But that was in NYC real estate, with shady dealings with shady characters, and a reality show that he brought with him to the White House.

The bullshit has no currency when one is dealing with 20% unemployment, a pandemic, and press that does not lavish praise.

It's time to face the real world.

The only variables:

A. How long you ignore it

B. How high the price will be when you finally turn and face it (which follows directly from A).

The Republican party might finally face the disaster that Trump has created for them. Maybe.

Lincoln supposedly said it during a speech in 1858, but there's no historical record to support that. It's believed neither man wrote it, rather some newspaperman of the day. At any rate, Trump has much more in common with P.T. Barnum than Lincoln, so the aphorism rings truer attributed to another con man.

wasn't Barnum the "sucker born every minute" guy, too?

BTW, that's why I said "attributed" as in "some people think" he said it. He usually gets the meme.

We also seem to have what looks like a Republican backup plan...

Trumps little AstroTurf armies rallying for a boogaloo, that is, traitors betraying us by taking advantage of a national crisis.
