White House economic adviser struggles to explain his pandemic model that shows zero deaths by May 15
Published 1 min ago on May 5, 2020By David Edwards
White House economic Kevin Hassett on Tuesday struggled to explain a controversial chart that shows coronavirus deaths dropping nearly to zero by May 15.
Hassetts so-called cubic model was panned by experts on Monday.
Hassett made an appearance on CNN on Tuesday to defend his cubic model.
Why did you do it? CNNs Poppy Harlow asked. Did anyone ask you to do this and why are you creating these?
Hassett explained that he began creating his chart daily because of the ventilator shortage. According to the economic adviser, his chart is made to track the accuracy of other scientific models.

(22,112 posts)aiding and abetting the criminal POS in the WH should face criminal charges if and when they can be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they encouraged people to disregard active public safety guidelines / rules established for the CV outbreak. Enough is enough. This is akin to yelling 'fire' in a theater or encouraging people to spray Lysol or drink bleach.
And everyone of these trials should be televised. rump wants to be a movie star so bad, here's his chance (as well as his cronies).

(21,311 posts)Pennsylvania has 22 meat processing plants and only 5 are reporting anything. People don't know what plants have infections, look for Pennsylvania to have an uptick in deaths, unless they can hide them too like Florida is doing?

(65,000 posts)He wouldn't remotely be able to explain how a cubic model works.
He's a supply sider. He can only think in 2 dimensions. His cubic model, by design would have more than 2 dimensions.
Otherwise there'd be no reason to have a cubic function in a quadratic fit.
I'd bet a hundred bucks he added arbitrary weighting factors to make the curve bend to zero.
An idiot trying to look smart.
