Please remember her in your thoughts and give us all grace during this time. We have all been through the deaths of our parents, but we have not done this. My sister was like my mom and I don't know what I will do.

(13,776 posts)Im so, so sorry. At a time when the world seems to be falling apart, your world really is falling apart.
Its so not fair. What a difficult and painful thing you and your family are going through. One small mercy is that she knows how very much she is loved.
I wish this werent happening.

(317,727 posts)Yes it does hurt.. so bad. My sister, who was also my best friend, shockingly passed away the day after Christmas in San Diego.
I'll always be in mourning.

(317,727 posts)I still post on her FB page.. things I know she'd like. I adopted a Star for her last week in her name.. it's a non profit org, and goes to astronomy research.
I haven't been able to talk about it.. just until recently when I see others who have lost loved ones.

(22,037 posts)last year. My sister was sort of my mom too. After she passed, her husband gave me her bathrobe for some reason. It has been my top blanket since - it helps.
Anyway, you will remember all the love and help she gave you and that will get you through the hard times - and you will honor that. Peace to you and your sister.

(3,138 posts)This is horrible. We are at the mercy of our fellow neighbors, and unfortunately, many of our fellow persons are selfish tRUmp supporters, and entitled billionaires who care only for their bottom line.
We Dems are fighting against a tide of hate & corruption from our own White House. It almost seems hopeless.

(1,879 posts)was a blessing to my family when my mom was dying. She was comfortable for the first time in years. Those hospice nurses knew more about pain management than any doctor she ever had. We had some real quality time before she went into a coma and slipped away.
I wish peace for you and yours.

(42,770 posts)Or poor. Or hungry. The dark cloud of CV is everywhere.
Are you near her? If so, thats a blessing. My sister's cancer surgery was delayed and my dad had to be placed in the only nursing home ( w/ low ratings) in CT that had an opening due to CV and I am 1500 miles away and helpless.
I know how you feel and send every ounce of karma your way with hopes of a miracle. Our loved ones are all that matters.

(12,178 posts)I lost a dear friend to cancer during this whole mess, and was not allowed to see her at the end. Luckily, two of our friends were hospice and allowed into the hospital to be with her, so she wasn't alone. I cry and am still sending texts to her phone... I sent my last tonight, telling the person who may have her number I was sorry, and promised today was my last text. I can't explain it, but it somehow gave me comfort to send her the usual funny emoji and texts of comfort that I'd been sending for so long. My heart is so broken still, I just don't know what else to do, but now I can't even text.
My prayers are with your sister, you and yours. It's impossible to find words that matter, words that comfort... I'm so, so, sorry.

(17,194 posts)I lost an older sister in 2017. She had cared for me when I was very young and our mother passed from cancer. I miss her terribly.
Im so sorry you are in this struggle, and I send prayers. I wish her a peaceful passing, and I wish you wonderful memories until you are together again.
Courage.
