(11,686 posts)I almost did. My Amazone decided to freeze a picture of the last program and I had to go through a lot of buttons to get it back to normal. I missed the opening so I will watch what you sent.

(205,255 posts)I regularly post the late night guys and any political guests - I find it a relief from all the dire Trump news. And I'd seen this thread earlier, so I had to reply. Just took me longer tonight since the battery in my mouse quit and I had to try every battery I could find till one worked.

Glad you found one. How's it going up there in New York where you are.. are people being serious and responsible?

(205,255 posts)Granted, I haven't been out that often, but then we're not supposed to be out and about and masks are definitely required here in New York. And I've been lucky, early on an older lady who I was parked next to at the bank offered me a mask - said she picked up a package at the drug store when they were still available. That one was paper, but then I got a really good one for a reasonable price ($6.99) at the gas station that I regularly go to! I've been there twice and they still have them (run by a nice couple from India).
About once a week I stop for groceries and masks are required there, too. All of the employees are wearing masks - and usually gloves - and they're more than helpful. I also stop at the pet supply store and they even have a limit for the number of shoppers are allowed in the store at a a time. Both there and at the gas station there's a plastic barrier when you go to the checkout.
It's hit-or-miss on what they have on the shelves these days - cleaning supplies and toilet paper are still hard to come by. One week they were out of mayo and canned tuna, last week there was barely any cheese.
The only people I've seen without masks were groups of teenagers - but since everyone else is wearing them, they sure are noticable! How are things in your area? Hope you're doing well and staying safe!

(297,180 posts)interesting. After all it is a whole new world that many of us entered into some time in March.
We're really strict here.. no one goes anywhere in a store or on the bus without a mask. It's essential traveling only. There's a $5,000 fine if you break the rules.. the magats wouldn't like it here one bit.
We do get to go out and run or walk everyday without a mask.. just as long as we're alone.
We've had no deaths on Kauai and no new cases for about 3 weeks.. and the ones who had the CV are now recovered. The visitors who come have to be quarantined in their rooms for 2 weeks if they want to do any sight seeing afterwards.

(205,255 posts)It scares the hell out of me to read about other states that are already ready to go back to life as usual - they're in for a terrible backlash in illness and death which puts all the rest of us in danger.
Last I knew my county had 14 coronavirus deaths as of May 1st, 11 of those in nursing homes they said. And it was only late in March that we heard about the first death, it was such big news that it made the headlines of the local paper - an 83-year-old man from up north who had previously exhibited no symptoms - his wife had it too, but she recovered.
And yesterday I caught the local (Albany) news and they reported 2 more coronavirus deaths, both in nursing homes. It sounds like proximity is responsible for the areas with the most fatalities. It's fairly rural around here so we're lucky in that way.
