Iam so fustrated and absolutely upset ,my generation will have nothing no retirement no healthcare ,and watching rightwingnuts becoming mainstream is very awful ,I don't even know where to gain my thoughts I feel so trapped

what is was going to be. I graduated from college in 1980. Any decision that I made then based on what seemed like rational thinking has been wiped out by now. I made a decision in 2008 based on what was true then and looked to be true going forward that put me in a pretty good position today. I'm 62 and can't retire yet, but fingers crossed things we don't have a complete collapse and I should be fine. I've completely changed careers three times, once when I was 46. So kids, stay flexible, don't live outside your means, and look for bedrock jobs that are as unaffected as possible by market forces. Right now my money's on car mechanic. When (if ever) society is done with cars you will be able to see it coming a mile off and make the necessary changes. Either that or marry somebody really old and really rich. Although, be careful with that. They may end up being the President and then you have THAT mess to contend with. 4-8 years of pretending you like them. Or not!

and make a point, I'd have no health insurance. My university education has never meant anything to any job I've ever had until I went to a trade school and learned drafting. Look in the paper these days for draftsmen jobs. None. The factories my dad worked in? Gone. The middle class has been disappearing since the 80's. What makes you think you're all alone on this boat? Are your parents any better off than you?

10. When I watched

Houses being built by 3D it showed just how much things have changed in 20/30 years.

There will always be a need for manual Labor but even an auto mechanic has to be trained on computers. It is amazing to me just how changed the world of Engineering is, but you still need to know the basics.

The young seem to me to be stepping up.

But as long as we keep electing old men.,long past retirement age who still think it is 1950 nothing will change. Who would think we have a whole Political party that denies climate change and Science, think tax cuts will fix a deficit. Refuse to modernize a bloated health care system run by lobbyists? Refuse to pass an Infrastructure bill that would create hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs, High Speed Rail.

Until we clean house of those who only care about their perks, bullying and lying their way forward.

I absolutely get the problem women have with men offering help and not knowing if the man can be trusted or not. We as a group earned that distrust and the shame that comes or should come with it.

I absolutely get #metoo and I get the first thing that a woman's report of assault is that they should be believed even as the report needs to be taken seriously while its being investigated.

For the men in my family who are scared lives can be destroyed, careers ruined, so I really have to look down the middle.

Many men are guilty, some are not. It is a very fine line we have to straddle.

We had a couple of high school students working with us at the polls. They liked us so much they asked to come back.

I defended one from a rude voter who complained she had to show her Drivers license. Flipped her Nurses badge at the girl as if that was ID. When the lady came to me I said,” We really need workers, would you care to sign up?”By the time she finished voting I think she realized she was wrong. Came back smiling to return her memory card.

The girls learned how to handle rude people and enjoyed it.

nation in the history of the world. It depends on how the country is run that matters.

Become politically engaged, especially VOTE to stop the carnage and put in place a fairer system and a better vision.

The GI bill was used to help (WWII) military veterans attend college and receive aid from federal housing agencies in obtaining secure and fair housing loans. The elderly and those unable to work were assisted greatly by the new federal Social Security program.

The economic system and climate change are enormous issues but please don't give up. There can be a better world ahead, we have to work to create it.
