(12,712 posts)I wonder if the Romans felt that way, too?
Now, let's see. What bad things can I do to get MY reward for a change?

(15,082 posts)Kid misbehaves. Kid essentially throws a tantrum. Kid endangers many lives by driving ON THE FREEWAY!
Consequences?
Is he grounded? No
Does he lose any privileges? No
Does he get a ride in the massively expensive luxury sports car that caused the original tantrum? Ding Ding Ding. We have a winner!

(15,082 posts)we went to one of those children's haircut places. As we waited for our appointments, a little boy was perched in the chair. He was throwing a complete fit about getting his hair cut - thrashing and flinging his head from side to side. The mom was trying to cajole him into sitting still by saying she would buy him a toy if he would behave. I thought, boy - wait until he's 16 and he wants/doesn't want something - that will cost her a new BMW. Finally the hair cutter decided that it was not safe for SHARP SCISSORS TO BE NEAR HIS EYES as he thrashed. The mom was pissed at the hair cutter as she flounced out. Great lesson there, Mom.

Sickening on many levels.

(44,973 posts)This child could have killed himself or others.
Rewarding him for it tells him what he did was just fine.
And riding with him sitting on his mother's lap in a front seat clearly is not going to teach him about the importance of safety either.

(50,949 posts)Clearly, this kid's parents are dangerous imbeciles.
Clearly, they are carefully training him to be the same.

(25,586 posts)Riding in a fucking supercar with a kid on your lap?! One mistake by the driver and your child dies literally in your arms.

I guess that deserves a reward. I don't know who this Jeremy person is that offered the kid a ride, but parents should have said No.
Instead the kid is riding in a front passenger seat in his mother's lap.
Anybody has any common sense there?

(4,423 posts)Based on this absurdly bad parenting example, they should definitely put mom, dad and son in front of a judge for a little education.

I mean, there are a million things wrong with this story and the parents, etc, but damn if this kid didn't try to live out every 40 year old guy's dream.

(32,685 posts)I don't think he should have been rewarded for his actions.
Also, we'll probably see a lot more of this in the coming years due to push button gear shifting.
