Most are polite enough to do so as I'm literally off the paved bike path into the ravine that runs parallel. But, that they don't automatically get over in a single file so that there is at least four feet available separating us is really annoying. They say to pick your battles, but damn--when my life and others are at stake, I'm having trouble with that.

As a dog obsessive myself, I've also tried to be understanding when people let their dogs get past them (though they clearly are supposed to have them leashed) and of course then have to come up to me and my dog to retrieve it. Outside walking my dog, in my car, and at home are the ONLY times I'm not wearing a mask and my face/skin can heal. But, that hinges on people being responsible I encounter outside. Thus I tend to spend time out on the trails at dawn, but even then I encounter people that just don't think.

But some people just have to take up the whole space.

But I always mask these days.

This morning, though, a fellow walker had a mask that said, "This was all preventable." Love it! And I told her so.

I wish it was more widely understood that we should walk facing oncoming traffic.

In these times it matters, especially in neighborhoods without sidewalks, like mine. Don't people care about cars coming up from behind?

And then, here comes someone or some two or two with dogs, and I have to cross over or walk in the middle of the street.

Happily, this is my greatest personal concern at this time, so am happy to be able to walk at all.

Coughing and hacking happens, seems like he "distanced" properly. Sounds a bit like you're too paranoid to be without a mask or too far from home?

I'm seeing a lot of people out there for whom running seems like a new thing. Good for them, I say. Everybody who can SHOULD run - best pound-for-pound cardio you can do on a consistent basis for almost nothing.

That said, all the newbies out there are realizing that it's not so easy as all that. A guy who doubles over coughing is probably just hitting a new limit. Still wise to avoid droplets, of course, but somebody coughing that much from COVID would probably not be making it well enough to even be mistaken for a runner.

The way men and boys do for whatever reason they do. and I am thinking people walking getting it on bottom of shoe and tracking it in, or dogs walking getting it on their paws. I have always found that behavior of boys and men annoying at the least, seeing how women and girls do not feel the need to spit all over the place. I find it more irritating now.

what I find even more disgusting is men's habit of holding one nostril closed and blowing their nose snot out on the trail while they run. In fact, I read an editorial by some sports writer who writes for our large city newspaper in response someone who complained about this disgusting habit in men that he doesn't see anything wrong with it because it's no worse than a woman accidentally having a dirty Kleenex fall out of her pocket onto the trail. WTF?

There will also likely be a lot of hacking and choking going on. I don't know if I could make any of it travel 90 feet though.

I would however appreciate if you did call 911. If I am running it is extremely likely someone is chasing me.

Myself included. Watch any hockey game, and the players are all spitting from the bench. Definitely disgusting, and in this guy's case, very rude. But, probably not COVID-19.
