Oklahoma House Republicans vote to reverse court ruling on absentee ballots, require them to be notarized

Republicans in Oklahomas state House on Wednesday voted to require absentee ballots be notarized, overruling a state Supreme Court decision eliminating the requirement.
Senate Bill 210 passed the state House on a near-party line vote Wednesday, and would restore the requirement, with exceptions for the June 30 primary election due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Oklahoman. In the event of an emergency declaration in effect within 45 days of an election, absentee voters would instead have the option to sign their ballot and mail it with a photocopy of their drivers license.
The legislatures Democratic minority argued the capacity to make a photocopy would present an unnecessary burden to voters.
