I have seriously run out of fucks to give about Dr Fauci and his "very tough job" he has to do.
He needs to fucking show up and answer questions from the people's House . Period! All Stop!
If you have "integrity", you do the right thing.
If you have "honor", you do the right thing.
Dr Fauci needs to show up at the House hearing as requested, despite what Donnie Shit for Brains directs or orders.
I'm fucking sick and tired of hearing about what a fucking fine line he has to walk.
People are fucking dying and being mamed for life. I give not one fuck about his fucking "fine line". The people's House...elected by the vast majority of Americans NEEDS TO HEAR from the guy who is supposedly the expert.
What does he fucking gain by not showing as requested?
A better question is what does he have to lose by failing to show?
How about losing a lifetime of respect and integrity.
Show up Dr Fauci.

(226 posts)this is the basis of the oath they took as healers....it is time for them to stand up...any good that they are doing aligned with this psychopath is in the shadow of his malignant ego and re election at all costs of life...go to the house and testify....the only fine line you are walking is ...Do No Harm

(81,260 posts)TOTALLY agree!
First, Do No Harm, Dr. Fauci! Do you REALLY have to obey trump when he says you're not allowed to testify? Why can't you defy him and go speak your truth to the committee ANYWAY? And say what needs to be said ANYWAY? Are you a citizen of the Disconnected States of trump? Or the United States of America? What can he do to you except fire you? That might actually be a mark of integrity added to your resume, frankly.
Dr. Fauci, I'm rock-solid certain that you know what a spine is. And that you know where it's located. Which means you certainly know where YOURS is. USE IT, DAMMIT!!!

(32,701 posts)Nothing left to lose at this point. trump has completely distanced himself from the pandemic and takes zero responsibility.
Any new task force events will be dominated by trump's newly installed lackeys.
Fauci needs to become an independent expert.

(449 posts)so why not get in there and expose the truth. Of course, Fauci might not want to disclose his actions as well.

(90,336 posts)And as Trump says often, "What does he have to lose?" Fauci is 79 years old. He doesn't need this job and if Trump fires him, it won't be the end of his world. Meanwhile, it could free him up to say what needs to be said. Its not like Trump is taking his advice anyway.

(46,705 posts)I agree. It's time for Fauci to throw his cards on the table and walk away from this Administration. Trump is already sliding into dangerous territory. You just can't have two diverse and contrary policies operating at the same time, without devastating results.

(254 posts)With RePukes, no matter who it hurts or screws. I think our country would be way better off with no RePukes in our government or society for that matter. I know that can't happen, at least not within my life time but I can dream about it can't I?
Given the opportunity I think RePukes would screw as many as possible and...with SpaceX now pushing for Mars, the filthy rich will buy a ticket for a ride out to Mars and set up a new society. Otherwise, why is Musk so intent on getting to Mars? Follow the money.
Now we have that nitwit actor getting ahead of everyone for shooting a movie in space on a ride with SpaceX. I take it a lot of money changed hands.

(25,544 posts)A virus which infects in the manner in which this one does was obviously not caring of the sexuality of the individual. We knew as clinicians it was just a matter of time until it affected anyone who was appropriately exposed. And yes, sexuality is one attribute of ones personality but we knew that it was a matter of oppression of gays that these RWers promoted this notion. Itd be like saying that syphilis only affected sailors and those in the military. I practiced during this and no one can tell me what happened. I lived it and lost hundreds of my patients in an 18 month period. Lectures I dont need, thank you.

Malaise, there's sometimes just too much stuff to keep up with. But Dr. Fauci needs to take a stand or get out of the drama.

Out of nowhere she was "Born-Again" and became a devout evangelical, and therefore a serious Trumphumper.
Some kind of crisis must have happened in her personal life that drove her over the edge????
And WTF is it with all those gaudy ugly designer scarf's she wears every day??????? Like I said, she has a very respectable Bio as a leading scientist, and then poof.........
Did you see her expression when she was sitting there listening to Trump's drivel about powerful lights shoved up inside of people and injections of cleaning solutions into people's bodies????? And she said absolutely nothing.
Any scientist, medical authority I know would have stood up and walked off the stage with utmost disgust....
And she said nothing and just stood there.......

(6,173 posts)Staying with Trump just gives the president the illusion of credibility; something he is sadly lacking.
Fauci should resign and testify before the House.
It's the honorable thing to do.
Perhaps the Trump taint has already taken hold of Fauci, and he accepts his role as window dressing for the failed Trump covid19 response.
A sad end to a long, and otherwise brilliant, career.

If he were to go to the House he would be out of a job before the session began for disobeying a direct order from his boss. We need him where he is; trump knows Fauci is untouchable and that is why he is trying to push him into the background.
We should be damn glad hes there.

Fauci will be fired as soon as Spanky thinks hes not useful or is a threat. Once hes fired he can say what he wants I suppose but hes cut off from the official actions on the virus, the response, the backstage goings-on and we lose his medical perspective.
I admit we could all be wrong but I dont see any upside to his firing.

(254 posts)...I agree. He needs to testify in our House too. Failing to do so calls into question his integrity in my opinion. The mealy mouth BS that donnie pukes aside. Seems to me Fauci thinks more about his job (donnie will fire him) than giving the best scientific advice available. What is it with this donnie guy? Why do so many on the administrative side of our government bow down to this POS?
If there is a God, I can only hope that this POS gets his walking papers in Novembers election. Given what is going on with humans currently I doubt any God exists. Not that I ever had or would.
How many more Americans are going to die for this experiment of opening up businesses? We shall see in about 3 weeks. I wonder what will happen then? What will donnie do? I'm betting nothing as is with what he is doing now. Great job donnie!

The Retrumplicans are taking this country into a place we can't get back from. We came from the 1860's, it sucked. The biggest gun we have is free speech and no one can stop it. (81,260 posts)YES! To EVERYTHING you said.
The more Fauci pulls his punches or demurs or couches his words or tiptoes around the Shitstain-in-Chief because he wants to avoid a tweet storm or he doesn't want to get fired - THE LESS HE BECOMES.
The less his reputation becomes.
The less his word becomes.
The less his authority becomes.
The less his credibility becomes (or what's left of it at this point).
You have a backbone, Dr. Fauci. You're an MD. You know what backbones are and where they are located in the human body. You undoubtedly know you have one of your very own. SO USE IT, DAMMIT!

(1,699 posts)Yes, I agree that Dr. Fauci should testify, but he is in a catch 22 situation. If he goes against Fat Donnie then he will be able to testify the one time but then we all know he will get fired. If he is fired he loses all access to the vital information he is using to keep us informed. At that point he could give us theoretical answers to questions about Covid but he would be behind the times so the information would be of limited to no use. Do we want Dr. Fauci in place for the longhaul so we at list get some legitimate information coming out of White House. I see two other options that might work. Is there someway that the House can protect Dr. Fauci's job if he testifies. Remembering that Fat Donnie will try to ignore anything they do and still fire him? The other option I would like to see is for Dr. Fauci to stand up to the idiot and give out needed information no matter what Donnie says and maybe get the idiot to blowup or fire him on air at which point he is free to give his real opinion of the crappy job the Fat man is doing.

I don't think 45 can fire him, per se, because of the NIH structure (but who the hell knows anymore) and there have been several articles stating he is still on the Task Force but if my family is threatened, I wouldn't stand out there and be a front for the assholes who aren't listening anyway. He can go home at this point, pull his pension, and enjoy his family. After 30 years, I think he has given his pound of flesh for this country.
