16. As much as I miss her, I'm glad my mom isn't around to see this.

She was a nurse, a nursing administrator, and she also taught post-grad courses for nurses. She would be utterly horrified over the current state of affairs, and she wasn't shy about making her opinions known. If she was still alive, she'd be way too old to physically help out, but but she'd no doubt be available to provide any sort of expertise she could. She'd probably be raising hell with her elected officials, too.
