Since cv-19 is going to spread pretty thoroughly throughout the world's population, the
decision to ban cv-19 survivors from serving in the military will seriously deplete the pool of military recruits, and also remove from the ranks many of those already in the military. Maybe this is the beginning of a real drawdown of our enormous military machine. Of course, other countries (China, Russia, North Korea) are unlikely to follow the US lead on this, so we could end up seriously outmanned.
Still, it will be interesting to watch whether the US sticks to the plan to ban cv-19 survivors once the consequences of that policy become clear. Will Captain Crozier and the huge number of cv-19 crew on the Navy's ships and subs be thrown out of the Navy? Will other branches of the military remove so many who have been infected even after they survive?
A huge amount of money goes into training military members, especially ones like Crozier, but also ones with specialty roles on nuclear subs, and even regular grunts. How can any branch of the military handle losing so many members to this new policy of banning all covid survivors?
