I know what my reaction would be if anyone else told multiple lies that put me and mine in mortal danger.
I know what would happen if anyone else ridiculed POWS and the physically impaired in my presence.
I know just exactly how I would treat any man who laughingly proclaimed his "right" to grab my wife or daughter or granddaughter by her crotch.
I know how bullies and cowardly "tough guys" get treated in the face to face real world.
I know---and you know---what needs to happen with Trump.
But, we can't say it out loud.

(46,705 posts)would want your children to adopt, I have to say, that I have trouble respecting people who support him. I have trouble respecting Republicans. But I don't underestimate their ability to demand the high ground, even though we've seen their dark souls.
When this presidency is over, I predict that there will be a groundswell of shock and a race to a verbal high moral ground, insisting that they were nothing like Trump, and they will go back to targeting Democrats the way they always do. Like the duck shooting carnival game. They'll use morality, that they have not shown, as bullets to shoot at Democrats. They will be empty bullets, but Democrats will fall, instead of turning around and calling their bluff.
They should tell them: You were silent when Trump was lying, changing statistics for political gain, firing good people, using the federal government to line his pockets. You were silent then, be silent now."

(60,014 posts)His values are vile. I can't knowingly be friends with or respect any republican right now. None. No tolerance.

(7,611 posts)pretending it isn't there is dishonest. Also, I think our anger and lust for revenge is no accident- it serves a legitimate self-preservation function.

(50,557 posts)It seems that our ersatz president doesn't believe the Constitution applies to him.
It also seems to me that if Trump doesn't want to live with the duties and responsibilities the Constitution bestows on every citizen, nor does he want to live with the duties and responsibilities it demands of a president, then he shouldn't enjoy the protections it gives to us.
The Sixth Amendment guarantees to every defendant a Speedy and Public Trial. The Eighth Amendment protects us from Excessive Fines and Cruel and Unusual Punishment.
And so, it is quite obvious (at least to me) that the proper thing to do with this scumbag is to lock him up without trial for about five years, seize and sell all his properties, then give him a one-day drumhead trial in the prison's conference room and sentence him to live as an ordinary citizen. That means he gets to live in a pleasant middle-class subdivision in a $250,000 house with no gold anywhere in evidence, he gets to drive a Ford Escape to his job stocking shelves at Walmart, and he gets to play public courses for the rest of his life.
If you can think of anything more cruel to do to this bastard than to strip away his veneer of wealth and prestige, please let me know.

(9,895 posts)The visuals are choice (flashes of yellow flowing wildly in the air, whipped into different directions by forces known but not named...a momentary flash of some shade of orange too, passing quickly like a hurricane projectile flung past a stationary camera), but the audio is absolutely clutch (piercing, echoing, like a firecracker with reverb and vibrato and an under current of bass that trails off so nicely)!!!
Oh...the sweet sweet escape of a vivid imagination...
I am definitely experiencing some things right nah!!!

(694 posts)conventional means. He won't be voted out. Republicans cannot afford to lose control of the DOJ. They will not be allowing
common voters to decide the next portion of this takeover. Everybody vote and see what happens. This country is toast.

(12,810 posts)He cares VERY much what Democrats think, because he's a narcissist and egoist. If Democrats don't fear him or aren't cowed by him, it ruins his day. He most definitely cares.
But his fans believe Democrats should fear and be cowed by Republicans regardless, so it likely wouldn't make a difference to them if they realized Trump really actually does care. But they'll say he doesn't, because he publicly acts like he doesn't, and this helps them sleep at night.

He gets up, turns around, trips over the trousers around his ankles, hits his head on the rim, then drowns in his own shit.
Totally self inflicted karma.
