Mike Pence is a reprehensible manslug, but those boxes weren't empty

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/mike-pence-empty-boxes-debunk

The Jimmy Kimmel show edited the Pence photo op for comedy purposes (which is why it's important to get your news from news sources, and just use the comedy shows to get your sanity back from the world's daily assaults). Pence brought in real boxes of supplies and only joked about picking up empty ones.

Of course Mike Pence person delivering a few supplies doesn't make up for the whole administration screwing up supply distribution from back in January when they first knew we would be under attach by a pandemic.

But I think we should stick to honest talking points. If in war truth is the first casualty, let's at least make sure it doesn't get killed by friendly fire.

He did say that, but he didn't pick up any of the empty boxes nor deliver them. He actually did carry a couple of boxes at least. The timing on the video and the audio was edited can make it look like he was carrying the empty ones.

Read the article. It's from the left-leaning BuzzFeed news. They're at editorials are plenty harsh on the Trump administration. I trust them.

6. I Did Read The Article

Pence did say it and nowhere did it indicate he was joking. And I'm well acquainted with BuzzFeed.

Edited to add that it reminds me of when the WHMenace used to pile a table with fake papers. That's the way they do things there and the fact that it could be accepted as truth isn't on anyone but them.

9. So Pence Didn't Say That?

and BuzzFeed indicated it was a joke? The article did say he socially distanced, which is not true. Though it did not mention he didn't wear a mask. Probably because they would've been caught up in contending with lies as with the Mayo Clinic incident. The point here is, I don't appreciate a scold for having read an article correctly and commented on it.

How this was "fake" is specifically addressed in the article.

in which you were/are incorrect..that being that I did not read the article following it up with pompously describing who BuzzFeed is. In addition, in the writing, which I did read, while not watching the video, it was not described as a joke. And finally, good job for falsely calling me a liar while getting on your high horse to support proven liar Pence who has no problem telling them nor faking events just like his boss for photo ops.

But Kimmel edited it to make it sound/look like Pence was actually carrying empty boxes. And yeah, it's kinda funny. But then a LOT of people went on Twitter (and elsewhere) saying that Pence was actually carrying empty boxes, reporting it as fact. Hell, even people here thought it was real:

Consequently, a lot of people were mocked for making fake claims. So the OPs moral still stands:
It's important to get your news from news sources, and just use the comedy shows to get your sanity back from the world's daily assaults.
