US president Donald Trump has just said coronavirus will go away without a vaccine, but there may be some flare ups next year.
However he has said this may not be until after autumn, or next year, and did not offer any scientific evidence for that prediction.
(Viruses) die too, like everything else, he said.
On that cheery note - Trump is speaking at the moment with Republican members of Congress. Ill update you with some of the highlights as we go.

His predictions are as bad as his lies.

(11,726 posts)Technically and I say this with the utmost contempt for this assface, he is correct, the virus will eventually go away to some degree. Like you said however, when and how? He does that weasel word shit all the time so you can't technically say he is lying. He didn't say when, how, or give any useful information. When confronted he will retreat to a vague position, "Well, I am hoping, and it will, it will go away. I don't know when, but it will". It's a similar weasel wording when he said he would, "drain the swamp". He never said who the swamp is because the "swamp" is different things to different people. He allows people to project whatever in in their head.
Also, he said that he is the "nation's cheerleader" but this just shows how emotionally illiterate he is. He equates being hopeful with living in a fantasy world. Being hopeful is understanding the danger or challenge that is in front of us in real and honest terms, but knowing that we as a people are strong and up to the challenge of persevering, and that working together we can move forward and be stronger. He is such a simplistic thinker that he equates reality based, difficult questions as "negative" and expects people to praise him before asking stupid sycophantic questions like OANN.

(10,885 posts)There's never a definitive statement from him. It's always "It could be this, or it could be that." "It might be true, but then again it might not." "We're going to do this unless we do the other thing." He won't commit to a position because he's a coward and can't stand the heat when he's challenged.
Well, now he has two great challenges - COVID-19 and Joe Biden. COVID will subside eventually. Let's hope JB-20 comes on strong.

(11,726 posts)Viruses do not die because viruses are not alive. Viruses can "burn out" because they have killed off all of their hosts or because enough immunity has been built up to stop the spread, but without effective treatment and a vaccine, the virus will be with us for some time. It may not even decrease over the summer. There isn't any data to indicate that like the influenza virus, that SARS-CoV-2 will act in the same way.
He just talks out of his ass. I mean, I guess it is hard to distinguish between his ass and his face so, it is possible. He knows nothing and just says whatever comes into that empty head.

The only time a virus simulates life is during reproduction.
Even the sanitizing agents I worked on in my career never claimed to "kill" viruses.
FDA & EPA claims were that they destroyed viral activity. Not kill.
He's such a nitwit!

(11,726 posts)While I understand that there are many many people without the opportunity to educate themselves and gain knowledge, ignorance, especially willful ignorance, is one of my main irritants.
Bush was dumb. I mean just dumb as a brick. But he didn't talk shit. I think he knew he was dumb and tried to make up for it by being affable.
This asshole is dumb as fuck, but he pretends that he is super smart. Like he had ANY chance at going into medicine or the sciences like his uncle . Like he actually has "the best words" and is, "very smart". He proves every day, that if he EVER had it, it is LONG LONG gone. He needs to STFU!

(64,963 posts)..nearly all ignorance about science is willful.
Geez, type superstring theory for lay people into Google and you'll get 30 hits of well written articles, that doesn't require one to already be a scientist to understand.
There's no lack of easy to understand knowledge at the fingertips.
If one is still ignorant about it, it's willful & lazy.
