It's my daughter-in-law's brother. He's 27, a nurse working in a hospital. He presented with fever, chills, and respiratory difficulty.

Nothing makes me angrier than "I don' t know anyone". Then you don't know anyone in health care.

(16,177 posts)After ten days of breathing difficulty in the ICU. Alone.
Three decades ago, my sister and I were able to be with our mother in her last days and last hours. It would have been so awful to know she was suffering but not be able to bring her the comfort and give her our love with the many small acts of kindness.
This disease is a twisted creepy thing.
I hope your relative recovers quickly, and hasnt inadvertently spread it.

(1,671 posts)Another 31 year old. He had been living at home with his parents and taking care of them when they became ill. He was hospitalized and put on a ventilator.
The brother-in-law of a woman I've known since high school was the 2nd death reported in his county at the beginning of this pandemic. I see my high school friend once a month for a ladies' get-together with 3 other women and they all took things very seriously after that even though they're Republicans.

(8,922 posts)I understand, he came in to the hospital with significant breathing difficulty. Fortunately he started to recover before they had to do that that but was there for about a week. He's been discharged now but they said he was pretty shaken from the whole ordeal. He's about 30 years old.
