The virus has rules that cannot be broken. Trump believes he can reopen the economy by breaking the rules of the virus. Trumps level of stupidity boggles the mind and makes me wonder, how did he survive, not go to jail, sometime during his life.
Why did so many people, lawyers protect him his entire life? It's not like he is a good person or friend. He has been a back stabber all his life. He doesn't have a great personality. He has been a total fuck up his whole life. What do people see in Trump that I can't see?

(34,108 posts)and needed money badly. I got extra jobs and worked my way out of it because back then you could do that without killing yourself. I simply cannot imagine a situation that would drive me to have any kind of discourse other than, "fuck off" with this jerk. I know it makes sense what you say but I cannot believe it. Besides being disgusting and gross he is transparent as hell as the biggest jerk on the planet. Oh well, just blowing off a little steam. Stupid people got us here and stupid people don't wear masks or gloves or keep a distance. May they forever wish they had paid attention to something besides themselves and their own bad opinions.

(3,266 posts)see the opportunity to use him for all manner of money- (and power-) making opportunities. You would never be drawn to his flame because your moral compass is in good working order. There's plenty of not-stupid people who can ignore the disgust, kiss his ass and laugh behind his back.

(53,776 posts)figured out how to get rich and thus should be worshiped and listened to for their expertise in all manner of things.
trump never figure out anything however, having inherited his money and ran though it through several bankruptcies, he was still able to hire lawyers and convince American banks to lend him money. That lasted until he kept defaulting on his loans and had to go to the Russian oligarchs.
He is neither brilliant or self-made. All he is is a dumb, ignorant narcissist who thinks he knows everything because he's never had a hardship in his life that couldn't sue of buy his way out ofuntil now.

(12,712 posts)I won't give him any outs, even the idea that he is not aware of what is going on and does not have a basic understanding.
Which then makes him fully responsible and brings the important question to the foreground: WHY did he let it happen this way. WHY does he continue to put Americans at risk, etc., etc. Sure, he has his real favorites in this country, the ruling class/oligarchs.
It is also most likely clear that the premature reopening is not going to be a huge success. If anything, it would a be a sporadic trickle due to the fear and concern most people have, (freedumb fighters aside).
This is one shady character and I am just saying his devious mind has motivations and plan B's, etc. While optics for him are an obsession, the increasing of power and the potential to install himself for life have looked like the underlay of his "will to power" and megalomaniac pursuits.
With the General Election coming, I expect some very strong shocks to the system from this rogue Administration and that may cue us in more on what's really going on. There is more to it than meets the eye.

I think it's important to understand how this virus is going to change the world.
Today theres also the paradox that some people who owe their lives to vaccines no longer want their children to be vaccinated. That could become a problem if we want to roll out a vaccine against the coronavirus, because if too many people refuse to join, we will never get the pandemic under control.
Finally a virus got me

(22,114 posts)crooks all flock together like (and I can't remember the rest of the saying)...he's a thug who has many years of honing his message down pat, and this is what he's used to fool way too many people. Now, we have seen him in broad daylight, and unfortunately, we're seeing him almost everyday at his stupid 'news conferences', which if you think about it, his messages are getting less and less effective, and if anything, simply reinforcing just how bad he is.
Just wait, I predict that he's going to leave office w/ Pence pardoning trump for any and all future federal crimes. I still believe this to be in the realm of possibilities. Don't ask me why (the logic of my thinking here), I just feel it.

(53,410 posts)They see that even when he lies and gets caught in a lie he simply gets away with it.
For his followers its not that they believe his lies. Its that they know perfectly well that he lies. The attraction is that he gets away with it. In their pathetic lives they lie about everything too, but it doesnt make them rich and famous, so Trump is just like they wish they could be. Lying, conniving rich people instead of lying, conniving poor people.

If there were 10 survivors of this virus he wouldnt care as long as 6 voted for him.
