...it's led by shitheads like this one out of their basement, who will be the first ones vaccinated.

It matters because disinformation like this kills, and we all happen to be in this pandemic together, whether we like it or not, no distinguishing between parties.

We need to directly confront these kinds of mass-inducing idiocies.

who isn't a hateful right-wing COVID-19-denier nutjob. If she wants to take her chances with the virus that's her problem.

Vaccination has two major co-equal goals:

1. Prevent the patient from contracting a preventable infectious disease.

2. Prevent the patient from becoming a vector for the transmission of disease to others.

For all of the anti-vaxxers' empty 'I-never-get-sick' bravado, what they're truly saying with their fecklessness is 'I don't care if others get sick because of me'.

"Ah, leave her alone; it's her choice" is a harmful outlook.

so all we can do is hope their stupidity doesn’t result in spreading the disease. My point was only that I won’t feel the least bit sorry for her if she gets it.

Yet in a column from last year, "Vaccine Skeptics Under Siege", she admitted that she and her kids are vaccinated yet was critical of government mandates.

Malkin even argues that a whooping cough outbreak proves vaccines aren't effective:

A recent whooping cough outbreak at the private Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles ... resulted in 30 students contracting the illness, all of whom were vaccinated. Of 18 unvaccinated students, none caught the disease.

That needs context:

The outbreak is a real-life example of something that experts have been noticing since doctors switched to a new form of the pertussis vaccine in 1997: Immunity wanes quickly.

The pertussis outbreak raises questions about how to best administer a vaccine when its protection fades so quickly. People now in high school are one of the first generations to receive only the new, shorter-lived form of the vaccine, making them test cases for these problems.
