CNN: "Contagion within the White House would be catastrophic for our national security."

https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/09/opinions/coronavirus-cases-in-the-white-house-presidential-weekly-briefing-vinograd/index.html

President Trump's personal valet, the vice president's spokeswoman, Katie Miller, and Ivanka Trump's personal assistant (who has been teleworking for nearly two months) all tested positive for Covid-19, illustrating the manifold threats the pandemic poses to our government. The news raises questions about the legitimacy of the White House's own narrative about its ability to keep Americans safe, while highlighting the potential havoc the coronavirus could wreak on our government and national security.

-----snip----

Bad headline CNN. Change "would be" to "is".

should an enemy attack.

If the whole White House is down, we'd be in an awful way.

Sure, whatever crisis came, Trump would handle it horribly, but if the ENTIRE White House were wiped out, and there wasn't a single living soul in the building, it couldn't be handled at all.

Though, the odds of a virus taking out every last person without warning, is very, very slim.

Lock him up.

at the last minute, Congress refusing to confirm him, the Supreme Court declares him interim President due to the stalemate, and then we're all screwed.

I just know they would never give up power because the Constitution says to. Just think about Bush in 2000 and Merrick Garland.

In this case, all things considered, and maybe I am just odd, but it seems that it would strengthen our national security and remove the threats to it.

With nothing but bad global relations and a drive towards authoritarian dominance here, what have we got to lose? Where have I heard that before?

Internally, they are ripping this country to shreds in so many ways, from politics to the economy to human decency. That's seems important to national security, as well.

Is that a stock thing they have to say concerning this? It sounds like it. It doesn't seem to fit though.

The WH believes it’s a hoax. At least that’s what they have repeatedly said publicly.

Or, at worst, it’s like a seasonal flu.

So, no masks, no gloves. No social distancing.

And if they want to stay credible with the cult, they can’t deviate from those public views. So mike pence didn’t wear a mask at the Mayo, and the idiot hasn’t worn masks anywhere.

And despite the report that trump was pissed that his valet, with whom he claims to have no contact, publicly he has to dismiss the news as irrelevant.

What’s troubling is that if trumpence don’t fall I’ll, they will use that as a sign from god. They are indestructible. It will further embolden then in their public statements and the continued non-response to the pandemic.

I see nothing adverse about having Trump, all his people, and Pence incapacitated by COVID-19. In fact, if they were all to be unable to complete the duties of their office, then I believe that Nancy Pelosi would become the President and that would be wonderful. We would see an immediate increase in the level of intelligence, professionalism, compassion, and public service within the White House should that happen.

CNN is assuming that our national security interests are being protected by the idiots in the White House right now and that is a faulty assumption. We are by no means safe, let alone "safer" with that moron at the head of the government. He is the reason why the problem with COVID-19 is so severe in this country right now. He did nothing to actually protect us and worse, he has been spreading misinformation and poisoning the discussion about how best to mitigate the damage from the virus. What we are seeing in the White House, with the spread of the virus, are the natural consequences from an incompetent response by an incompetent administration. You don't manage a pandemic with polls, ratings, and trying to win the new cycle. You do it by allowing the experts to do their jobs and providing actual tangible support and coordination with the States. This is the negligence of the administration coming home to roost.

We will be better off when he is gone.

After the trucks haul Trump's crap away, and the offices are cleared of S.Miller, Ivanka, KellyAnn, etc, then much disinfectant, UV light, heat, etc will be necessary to get ready for Bidens to move in.

I hope they can find some Clorox wipes in the market.
