Some people can be so fucking ignorant.

I went to pick up a take-out order, and a guy behind me was kvetching about the lockdown, going on and on about how "everyone" is pissed off, and how demonstrations are going to happen, and so on and on. Of course, he was the only one not wearing a mask in the small group.

Then he started in on how one of these days they're going to bring the trains in, and get people to board them on the promise of going to a better place to live. "Another Holocaust," he said.

Sometimes I wish someone would die and make me king: I would send these assholes somewhere where they would have to see how fucking dumb they are and beg me to get them outta there.

I tell the same thing to a Libertarian I know. I told him if this virus doesn't make you see how stupid Libertarianism is than nothing will.

But I might turn around and look at the person, and say my catch all “Interesting”.

5. How is that interfering with free speech rights? This is private property.

Only the GOVERNMENT is precluded from interfering unreasonably with freedom of speech. Nobody has a right to rant on private property, unless it's their property. He's just a customer like anyone else. He can't force others stuck there in line as a captive audience to have to listen to his annoying tirade. I consider that verbal assault and a public nuisance. You have every right to tell the idiot to STFU.

It’s obvious that you’re dealing with an idiot, so after telling that person to STFU, what happens next?

6. People like that need to be told to STFU, since they are only making the situation worse.

He has no right to force you to listen to his rant as you stand there in line, a captive audience. I consider idiots ranting like that a disturbance of the peace. He's on private property. He has no right to rant there.

because that is far too much responsibility to handle.

However, a concerted campaign to get them all to move to Florida might be doable, sell it as eternal summer where they can breathe the same air as their idiot leader. Reasonable people who live there now will be able to sell their houses for enough to afford something much nicer elsewhere. Florida dangles down, out of the way of shipping routes, so no one would have to cross hostile territory on a regular basis.

Best of all, it's on a major storm track and rapidly sinking.

Oh, I know some people don't mind the sauna like climate, the bugs, the alligators, the sinkholes, and the massive political corruption. My parents retired there and my mother always said she loved to see the high rise condo towers being built because it would make it sink that much faster. I quite agreed with her.
