(60,525 posts)Some classical composers I'd never heard of before, more jazz, and (oddly) more movie soundtracks (Bernard Hermann, Thomas Newman, Jerry Goldsmith - which seem to fit the times).
I couldn't make it without music.

(16,380 posts)Only 3500 people for 4 shows. The vibe is great. Well worth the trip. They have cancelled this year for obvious reasons. Maybe 2022.

(184 posts)I didn't think I could listen to more music than I already do. Between listening to my vinyl collection and Sirius Radio, music is playing around me almost 24/7.
I've been spending time listening to artist channels on Sirius radio - like binge watching, I've been binge listening. I love The Beatles and Rolling Stones' channels, and the Fleetwood Mac channel is also a good listen. Their early stuff, before Nicks and Buckingham joined the Mac, is really good. I especially like the albums "Bare Trees" "Mystery to Me" "Heroes Are Hard to Find" and "Then Play On." I'm pleasantly surprised how much they delve into the non Buckingham Nicks history. I even created a playlist on my iTunes with songs by Christine McVie from only her pre-B/N work.
p.s. So, according to Mick as he chuckled, The Beatles "Sun King" was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross." There is a similar vibe to the two songs. I thought that was interesting.
Next Up - Binging the David Bowie Channel.

(11,885 posts)I've always loved music of many kinds. I also find a lot of things I've never seen before online like on my smart TV YouTube , and many other new channels . Like older groups not seen when I was very young that never was on TV then.

(67,980 posts)I still keep music going in my office at work. But my recreational activities with Mrs. Aristus in normal times include the opera and the ballet. All of those artistic venues in Seattle are closed right now.

(39,353 posts)I'm listening to way more music lately. Can't focus to read much but music holds my attention nicely.

(23,950 posts)Some of it is streaming music, like the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and some is just listening to faves on Spotify or Sirius. We have more spare time so we spend some of it this way because it brightens up our lives and puts us in a better place.

(9,506 posts)the increase has occurred as a replacement for cable news TV in the background. The cable news has gotten so bad I have had to cut it off for a while and put music channels on instead. It improves the atmosphere.

Here's the best part; If I listen to it while looking at news stories it keeps me chill where I used to get flabbergasted and snarky.
Love the Dead too, btw. Great choice with this one!
