That sounds exactly like something that Trump would do. He is trying to blame China on the virus, the lab, although essential to the fight against this virus and future pandemics, is in Wuhan, China. The right wing has been throwing around these stupid slanders that the virus was man made, and implying that China set it loose on purpose. Trump has made that implication himself. Do you think that his followers ... Do you think that Trump understands the difference between the stupid rumors and the actual need for the lab in Wuhan to coordinate with scientists here to fight diseases?

Trump is a very simple and stupid person. He can only hold one train of thought in his head and it has been well documented that once he gets an idea in his head, that he maintains it. I would argue that the only thing that might persuade him to change course would be if something in the situation with the Wuhan Institute and the grant funding, could benefit Trump personally, immediately.

and incompetence. There are too many cases of research and medical teams being defunded and shut down, from the national security pandemic team to American virus researchers in China. It begins to look intentionally planned enough to warrant investigation into the people responsible for these actions and their foreign connections.

I hope we still have a nation left by the time November rolls around.

As for Trump blaming China, it is just a political scapegoat to avoid responsibility for his total failure to handle the crisis properly.

But, if I was going to look for a conspiracy behind the virus outbreak, I would look at North Korea. Remember the N. Korean promise of a Christmas present for the US?

Too many things like this are going on - programs defunded and closed down, decisions that stop effective policies from being used to contain the spread, interference with PPE deliveries in the US, refusal to follow safe guidelines in the WH.

When ALL actions and decisions are the opposite of what's needed, and have the effect of making things worse, it begins to look intentional and worthy of investigation.
