The asswipe just blatantly lied (again)

I usually don't listen to the press conferences but I happen to have it on.

he just said that the US and Germany have the "lowest deaths per thousand". he said it like three times.

that is total bullshit.

here is the data on deaths per capita, which shows that US has the 9th hightest deaths per capita and germany has the 14th highest. neither of these are anything to admire, as there are many many countries with much lower death rates.

where does he get the stuff he says? does he just make it up or pull it out of his ass?

No true believer will ever actually look up the true numbers. Even if they did, they would just call them "fake."

it matters. if we just sit by and let him lie and don't say anything, it matters.

yes there is a base that will believe everything he says, and then there are people with brains.

there are also people with brains who reluctantly support the president just because he is republican. those people need to see facts and they need to see the president is lying.

we can't just sit there and let him lie.

thank you to the fact checkers. it does make a difference.

it matters.

6. "we can't just sit there and let him lie." Who is the "we" that can do anything about it?

Yes, it matters to us because we value the truth. And we share it here among ourselves, and hopefully among family and friends when possible and/or feasible.

But it's the responsibility of our Free Press to not "just sit there and let him lie" when it's happening in a live TV broadcast - that's what would make it matter.

There will be no shortage of media commentators who will twist Trump's assertions into an inverse Moebius strip of logic and discover that if you squint your eyes just right and hold your mouth just so, then what he said is kinda-sorta true, if he'd said it differently.

This is really misleading, the MSM hasn't focused on this. This US is more or less in a plateau.
