As the pandemic rages and 81k Americans die, Trump accuses Joe Scarborough of murder 19 years ago

President Donald Trump accused MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough of murder — and urged authorities to open a cold case investigation.

Trump has lobbed allegations against the “Morning Joe” host, a former friend turned daily critic, related to the death of one of his congressional staffers in 2001, including as recently as last week.

An autopsy showed that Lori Klausutis, who worked in Scarborough’s Fort Walton Beach congressional office, collapsed due to an undiagnosed heart condition and suffered a fatal blow to the head as she fell.

Scarborough reacted to the president’s tweet moments later on the air, asking Trump — a regular viewer of the show he claims to hate — to turn off the television and get to work on the coronavirus.

“Why don’t you stop tweeting?” Scarborough said. “Why don’t you turn off the television, and why don’t you start working, okay? You do your job, we’ll do ours. America will be much better off for that. Just go, turn off the TV, Donald.”

This has been circulating since about 1998, or certainly by 2000. It's the kind of thing that pervades so-called *social* media: an allegation or hint of wrongdoing that can't be proved or disproved, and it takes just a kernel of information to start something like this going. Frankly, it's not that dissimilar to the Bill Clinton + Monica Lewenski thing. Did those two have a bit of sexual play going in the WH? Sure. But the rethugs morphed it into an impeachment by equating it to Clinton stealing the Orphans & Widows Fund or passing secrets to the Russians -- back in the day when they all hated/feared the Russians. tRump is trying to do the same thing here. Scarborough DID have a sexual thing going on with one of his interns or congressional aids. The exposure of that pecadillo had him drop out of congress. But, he was investigated - or his office was - by Florida police at the time. (Yes, I know. It was Florida).
