@MichaelSteele
I'm sure Mitch is aware that a grown ass black man who happens to be a former president has agency to speak his mind on how his successor is managing this crisis, especially since his successor has yet to keep "his mouth shut" about him.
And "classless"?

(50,994 posts)It's better if these folks stay Republican but speak out against this stuff. It gives them more credibility with other black Republicans.
Otherwise they would influence our party to become more conservative to pander to them.
Exactly what IronLionZion just said!

(6,448 posts)the Democratic Party is more financially responsible by miles. Every GOP president has a recession, ends their term with record-setting deficits, and unemployment figures are abysmal. The stock market means very little to macroeconomics, compared with those other factors.
If the Dems need to raise taxes, it's to cover the spending of the "drunken sailor" party.

(50,994 posts)low taxes, pro-business, opposes many social programs, opposed most of Obama's and Pelosi's reforms
It's great that he's openly critical of Trump/McConnell and speaks out against racism. People like him should fix what's wrong with the Republican party.

(25,355 posts)Opposing Trump makes them look like "good guys." They have known from the start that his worthless populism can't last long. They are looking out for themselves and not defending democracy or good governance. They are not even salvaging true consevatism.
The Republican party is not worth salvaging or cleaning up. It is far too tainted with a traitorous scum majority that enables and embraces Trumpist fascism.

(4,477 posts)Conservatism, while I don't agree with it, is a respectable ideology. The Republican Party has abandoned classical libertarianism (which, despite libertarian blathering, is not libertarianism) in favor of what Mussolini termed "the corporate state".

And this from the man who told colleagues they were going to make sure Obama was a one term president by blocking everything he tried to do.

(9,426 posts)worked with, instead of against, President Obama, their party might be in a much better position today. Moscow Mitch thinks "classy" is talking about grabbing women by their private parts, classy is a first "lady" with nude photographs available worldwide, classy is colluding with Russians, and Chinese drug runners? How "classy" is the entire first family? The tRump family of grifters, thieves and dumbasses. CLASSY? Hey, Moscow Mitch here is what "classy" would be - convincing YOUR disaster of a leader to resign. You should retire, your have made millions from doing the bidding of wealthy donors, including Russians. After all the damage YOU have done to this country, why don't you donate a few of your ill-gotten millions to help the needy, hungry people that depend on you as a "representative"?
PatSeg
(52,545 posts)but obviously that will never happen. Like Trump, everything is about him and how government service can enrich him. In many ways, I think Mitch is worse than Trump. Trump is really stupid and childlike, but Mitch should know better.
How much money is enough for these vultures? There is a reason why "You can't take it with you" is a well worn cliche, but it still goes over the heads of many.

(15,383 posts)the new stimulus remove liability for employers who force their people back too early is just another instance of corporate socialism. Corporations get the profits but the risk is all passed onto us.

I think President Obama should have kept his mouth shut, McConnell said in the interview.
You know, we know he doesnt like much this administration is doing. Thats understandable, but I think its a little bit classless, frankly, to critique an administration that comes after you.
