Where Did Freedom Works Go After Congressional Townhalls Were Shut Down? Easy.
Do you remember how Congressional town halls were taken over by astroturf tea party groups egged on by Fox News during President Obama's first term? Of course, when progressives started doing that to Republicans, Republicans simply stopped holding town halls.
So, where does the astroturf go? It goes to local government where you have a group of "activists" denying the existence of a pandemic going from one local government to the next. Of course, you might see the same person showing up at different local government meetings saying the same Rush Limbaugh type talking points regarding COVID-19 being no worse than the common cold.
It is pretty crazy hearing these folks talk, because they really do not believe there is a pandemic. Heck, you see them leaning into the same microphone with their kids just to make the point that they truly believe that COVID-19 is a hoax and that the numbers of deaths are vastly overstated. This is only possible with a closed right wing media system.
