Woman mauled to death by her french bulldog..a little one

https://wgntv.com/chicago-news/suburban-woman-mauled-to-death-by-her-french-bulldog/

INGLESIDE, Ill. — A Chicago area woman was apparently mauled to death inside her home by her pet dog over the weekend.

Lisa Urso, 52, was found in the back of her Ingleside home by a friend Saturday evening. Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper said she had been attacked by her French bulldog.

The dog was recently adopted by Urso, and had originally been bred to fight, Cooper said.

“It (injury) wasn’t the neck, most were in her legs and arms,” Cooper said. “Some on her torso as well. Just a lot of bites. A lot of scratching. I hate to say it but unfortunately, it was a vicious attack.”

Cooper said the attack started inside the home she shares with her boyfriend who, according to Cooper, was also recently attacked by the same dog.

Urso had gone to animal control to get the dog back.

“You don’t really think about it happening with a smaller dog breed, but we forget animals can be powerful,” Cooper said. “This animal has a lot of jaw strength.”

My grandmother had a Shih Tzu that went crazy one day while her and the puppy was in the backseat of my car. It bit her all over her arms and because she was on blood thinners it could have been fatal if I had not been there. The teeth on that dog were like razors.

She loved that little dog, but I told her it had to go as it would kill her if she got attacked when no one was around. We took it that day to the animal rescue. Sad but it had to go. My grandma was very important to me.

But that someone actually trained it to fight. I thought they were supposed to be lovebugs. They're certainly expensive.

It seems crazy that one could kill someone but any dog, if it bites in the right spot, can. Frenchies can get carried into a frenzy as can any dog, and their jaws are strong. One of ours broke our cat’s foot when she was upset by the cat throwing a fit during a nail clipping. She didn’t mean to. The cat recovered and once again they adore one another. We do separate them if things get amped up because the cat will weigh in as if she’s a dog too!

I appreciate people’s love for their pets but they are in fact animals and the best of them can injure. So can people but that’s another story.

Frenchies are delightful. This one sounds like abuse did terrible things to it. I’m sad for everyone all the way around.
