Pramila Jayapal, co-chair of the Congressional Progrsssive Caucus, says shes a no on the $3T stimulus. I unfortunately will be voting no on the bill. And I really, this was a difficult decision for me there are a lot of things that are good in the bill.
But at the end of the day I think that for us as Democrats we should be putting forward our plan of a couple of things how we keep people from getting unemployed how we stop mass unemployment, how do we keep paychecks in people's pocket, per pool

(12,712 posts)We could and should do as she suggested AFTER the much needed relief is available to keep people afloat until then.
I don't see how avoiding that is important. Both the current plan and her ideas are not incompatible and don't seem to be a reason to say no to it. At the end of the day, she could mobilize to get on that problem and present some findings and workable goals concerning unemployment and paychecks. Equivocating right now is not helpful.

(2,945 posts)stimulus will benefit? Middle America needs a guaranteed basic income at least until this is over and if there's a Dem that can't see this I'll be happy to see them voted out of office. I have utmost respect for our medical army that is carrying the heavy load but I have no problem with workers staying home if they're exposed to COVID. IMO every Dem should be financially supporting Middle America -- with no strings attached -- even if it means going further into debt.

I fking do not get where they are coming from nor going towards with the reason given for this NO Vote.
My god. ☹

Recall Kucinich, great activism, very little actually accomplished.
