Trump's Florida voter registration trips ups his Mar-a-Lago plans 😂🤣😂

By Terry H. Schwadron, DCReport @ RawStory

Amid all the intensity and seriousness of the pandemic, this little fable with no international significance has been percolating over in a quiet corner of our world.

Once upon a time, a couple of months ago, Donald Trump moved his formal residence – and voting address – from the gilded Trump Tower in New York City to the equally exclusive Mar-a-Lago in West Palm Beach. But, in doing so, he stubbed his toe on local regulations that now are keeping him from adding a dock to his property.

snip

Ah, therein lies the quandary: At the time of purchasing Mar-a-Largo in 1993, Trump signed agreements with the town of 8,000 that he was opening a club, not a residence. The town wary about new water traffic in converting Mar-a-Lago from a single-family residence to a private club owned by a corporation that Trump controls.

snip

But we’re skipping the good part beyond the dock. If it’s a club and not a residence, Trump can’t legally use it as a residence. Doing so is, how-you-say, illegal.

snip

Poor little rich boy gets dream house that he cloaks in corporate clothes and more riches, only to get tripped up by the mundane tasks of registering to vote.

You call it home, I call it club. Let’s call the whole thing off.

Or how about just stop complaining about non-existent fraud in mail-in ballots.

And as President he can do whatever he wants. Will they let him get away with this like he gets away with zillions of other lawbreaking activities?

because I don't know Palm Beach zoning laws and tax laws but I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper for Trump to call Mar-el-Loco a club.

Clubs probably get breaks for water and sewage usage.

Maybe Trump can get the Army corps of engineers to build a dock with a huge wall around it and claim it is to keep out those rapists and murderers?

If Trump wants to cast a vote for himself this November, he is going to have to buy another dwelling that he can call his “home” for address purposes?

Cool!

Make him spend more money he doesn’t have!

Otherwise, he could buy a broken-down travel trailer parked on a tiny lot in the backwoods and call it his residence.

Legal residence - Homeless. It is against Florida and federal laws to discriminate against a homeless person. The voter registration laws cannot be applied in a manner to deny such person the right to register to vote. Therefore, a person who is homeless or without a permanent ‘traditional’ home but intends to remain permanently in the locale can register using an address for:

1) place where he or she regularly receives messages,
2) the church if it agrees to accept mail or messages on the person’s behalf,
3) the shelter or other local that a person frequents and could be reached,
4) the specific post office for general delivery. It may even be a specific street corner, park bench, vacant lot, etc., to where the person frequently rests or returns and intends to serve as the “home-base”.

The point is to be able to locate and assign a precinct to correspond with that location

You know trump won't use this as a loophole to get around his residence issue, but how nice that it's there for him.
