(118,273 posts)I could not care less about labels. Saying We are not Marxists! really says very little: Marx himself famously said: Je ne suis pas marxiste
What I simply say is: the ruling class believes in class struggle and acts consciously in its own interests.
The rich boys' club of the Senate voted not so long ago that the President could do whatever he liked, to get himself re-elected, and since that time he has acted on it.
We got a multi-trillion dollar bail-out that's largely going to the already-wealthy, with very little to help ordinary people. We have the federal government deliberately disrupting supply chains of essential medical equipment. The little folk at the low-end of the economy have to work, with liability protection for their bosses. In this whole mess, the ruling class sets out to overturn not only worker safety standards but environmental laws as well. They pack the courts with their ideologues. They set out to undermine voting rights and the post office.
None of this is driven by pure ideology: it is driven by material interests, and those who benefit have banded together, with such organs of mass media as they control, to develop and maintain their upper hand.
We can all express outrage about it, but it is entirely predictable: they believe in class struggle; they wage their class war against us; and they intend to prevail. We should open our eyes and stop acting so surprised at every moment

(28,856 posts)Sanders was not promoting Marxism.
He was rightly promoting a fair economic
system for workers and the poor, and it
was anti-corporate.
All good!

Ofc I know it's more than that.
I am sick of hearing of Moscow Mitch's antics.
How long they continue to get away with all this treasonous crap, with little to no consequences whatsoever and the snarky flaunting of their obvious control of their base of morons that will stick to them no matter what insane lies they tell, people who die, and even vote against their self interests proudly?

Maybe we need someone like FDR who can save the ruling class from themselves.
Guillotines are probably a bad idea.
