Man Who Fired Shotgun at 14-Year-Old Black Boy Wants Sentence Tossed, Argues He Should Not Be Judged By Criminal RecordAshleigh Atwell
A Michigan man who shot at a lost teenager wants his sentence overturned.
In April 2018, 14-year-old Brennan Walker missed a school bus in Oakland County and decided to knock on Jeffrey Zeiglers door to ask for directions, according to Fox 2 Detroit. Zeiglers wife answered the door and mistook Walker for a criminal. She screamed for her husbands assistance, as reported by The Oakland Press.

Zeigler was convicted in November 2018 of one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and sentenced to 2 to 10 years in prison. He is also required to serve an additional two years for possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The sentences are to be served consecutively, meaning he must serve at least four years in prison.
Zeigler argued he should be freed because his sentencing guidelines were handed down incorrectly.
One of his main assertions is that he shouldnt be in prison for his actions, that the court improperly departed upwards in the guidelines, Paul Walton of the Oakland County Prosecutors Office told Fox 2 Detroit.

Zeigler asserted the consideration of his criminal record went beyond normal sentencing guidelines. In 2004, he plead guilty to a misdemeanor for firing a gun during a road rage incident. Zeigler did not serve jail time.

OP
Looks like the road rage never subsided -- court might need to revise the sentence upwards.

You attempted to blow a 14 year old away with a shotgun for ringing your doorbell, and caused them great bodily harm (I'm gathering).
You're lucky he didn't die, which I bet you weren't concerned with at the time, were you?
Asshole.

probably just after pardoning Sirhan Sirhan.

Until it is one of their own that gets convicted and then they are for them!
Like Oliver North. Or Scooter Libby.
Eff this guy.

Not far behind is know he will never be able to legally possess a firearm in the future.
Fuck him. Hope he does his full sentence and then is miserable in his Gunless life afterwards.
I know people like him. They make being armed an integral part of their persona.
