An old friend and classmate called from Florida to talk to my wife today. Mrs. Gibraltar has pretty much stayed away from politics with her. She says I love her too much to lose her friendship. Anyhow today she says I love your Governor I just sent her a note telling her that. This lady had been toting the line that the dirty New Yorkers had brought it to Florida when DeSantis sorta closed the northern border for show. Mrs Gibraltar sensing an opening said I hated the way Trump attacked Governor Whitmer. Friend replied that was last straw, Trump left us in harms way. I'll not vote for him again. She went on to say she didn't know who she would vote for but she knew who she wouldn't. We win the hard right crazies one at a time.

(29,938 posts)If she's not voting for Biden, she's still the enemy.
Remember all those folks who "couldn't" vote for Hillary?
They gave us Trump.

(7,631 posts)It's also OK that She's a champion of My Governor. With that opening Mrs. Gibraltar will have the chance to open her mind a little more.

It's like ... transitive property or some such

(29,938 posts)I'd be willing to bet paper money that if all the folks who voted third party here in AZ had voted for Hillary, we would have carried AZ for Clinton.
But, we had too many "never-Trumpers" who voted for that last minute guy Romney endorsed.
I'm just heartily sick of people complaining about Trump, but not committing to Biden. There is no other viable alternative.
I'll bet the majority of them end up holding their noses and voting for Trump anyway. Because the Dems are "socialists" and they don't want their taxes to go up. I've heard it over and over again.

(33,643 posts)Those 3 would've put her pretty close though, and she'd only have needed about 10% of Gary Johnson's votes.
But as you alluded to, McMullen was the dude that the Mormons were told to vote for by the Church. Hillary was unlikely to get those votes, ever.

(141,926 posts)'we win the hard right crazies one at a time,' and foolish to call them worthless; we should appreciate when they recognize what's good/better.
