Coronavirus Baby Boom

Last edited Mon May 18, 2020, 07:57 AM - Edit history (1)

In the "tradition" of black-outs, hurricanes, blizzards, natural disasters, etc., where people are homebound, the coronavirus has compelled people to stay at home indefinitely. There's only so much you can watch on cable, eat, read, etc. and that includes recreational sex that could result in pregnancies. Regardless of whether people live in states that have closed access to abortions, in nine months, babies will be coming.

How can hospitals and/or birthing centers guarantee safe, virus-free delivery rooms for safe labor? Safe postpartum resting?

If hospitals are canceling elective surgery now and if a cure and/or vaccine are in the distant offing (more than nine months away), I don't see how the healthcare sector is ready for a wave of newborns.

more than a baby boom. Most couples wish the other one would breathe quieter and quit getting on their nerves.

... increase in domestic violence, and probably a spike in divorces.

Maybe all three in the same family.

These are interesting times.

Anyone who doesn't use pregnancy prevention measures when having sex is insane in my opinion. No way i'd sentence a child to the shitshow bearing down on us on all fronts.
