"SNIP......

MOSCOW—Russian President Vladimir Putin is suddenly seen to be weaker than he has been in years, and economic pain from COVID-19 is one big reason, but not the only one.

“Putin’s approval rating began to decline even before the coronavirus crisis, with oil prices collapsing and the economy deteriorating—and I don’t see what can stop this perfect storm this year,” says Denis Volkov, deputy director of the Levada Center, which does independent polling.

“We see the public mood is changing the way we saw it during the crisis of 2008. (About 25 percent of our respondents say their salaries have been cut.),” Volkov told The Daily Beast. But Putin, like U.S. President Donald Trump, has die-hard fans, and “there is still a big group of people who say there is no alternative [to him].”

Putin’s biggest challenge is poverty, that old Russian disease. During his best years, when oil prices were astronomical and revenues were very high indeed, the Russian president was able to provide people with money—and with pride. He was building the armed forces, sending them abroad, overtly or covertly, to Ukraine, Syria, and Africa, and developing very expensive new weapons systems. Putin seemed able to provide, as economists say, both guns and butter.

They hacked Florida's voting machines in 2016, and that's the only one they got caught hacking. So it doesn't matter who people cast their votes for here, either, since the republicans are complicit and paid for, and are helping them hack the central tabulators.

motive behind the anti quarantine demonstrations. Intimidate and provoke with guns and threats. If they can push a local (Dem) government to respond with arrests or forced dispersals, the situations will escalate to physical violence. Then Tweeter will have a reason to declare an emergency and send in troops to consolidate his own control and power. All in the name of liberty and freedom to hold rallies, have church services, refuse masks, and open restaurants, theaters, and department stores.

The fools who would support such actions, actually believe that they are being patriotic and supporting basic American freedoms. They forget that the first basic freedom is life itself, since the other freedoms are worthless without it. So, in reality, they would be destroying freedoms by helping a would be dictator transition into a full blown dictator.

Now that Putin has the equivalent of regulatory capture of the US government, Putin has relatively free reign to start stuff where ever he wants. And if he is in any danger of losing power.. what unites a country like a good war?

Is Pretender Tweety getting some pressure over payments?

Over 90,000 deaths mean nothing to trump, but his master wanting money could make him nervous.

all the IG's that were in a position to oversee him. Plus, he did his little signing statement thingy with the last bill that said he wouldn't have any oversight. Trump will get Putin his money from the American taxpayers....same way he's been making all his rich friends richer at taxpayers expense.

of leaving office. He is now consolidating his power and authority toward the day (Nov 3) when it is challenged. At that time he will flip everyone off and declare himself the winner, either through R (Putin) vote interference or a rejection of a Dem win as invalid.

I am not making this up as a conspiracy theory. I am voicing the concerns and views of many experts on how democracies fail, as well as those expressed by Trump's own personal attorney, Cohen. In his Congressional testimony, Cohen warned the nation that Trump has no intention of ever leaving office.

In the beginning of Trump's reign there was a shift to undo every hard earned positive gain on the global stage. But with Trump, we lost our allies, we destabilized every one of our government departments and Trump made things worse by yielding to and protecting Russia.

Then comes a virus. Something that a writer used as the turning point in War of the Worlds! A fucking virus. And look where we are today. Every flaw created by Putin and Trump is biting them in the ass.

Our allies are managing this virus better than we are, but Trump turned his back on them to rely on...God, what does he have to rely on? He has nothing to count on because he undermined the science and integrity of our government departments. And he can't even reach out to Putin to help since his people are dropping like flies.

So Trump goes for the magic pill. Yes, the magic pill will solve all of his problems, because all problems are as simple to handle as ignoring them completely; or going for the simplest solution. A pill. A fucking pill.
